YOUR MISSION
In the role of the Station Manager, you are taking responsibility for the overall station performance, combining cross-business line know-how, leadership skills and commercial acumen. You have the ability to coordinate the support functions that enable your station to perform and achieve a smooth operation defined by productivity levels.
You are the highest local escalation point for customers and other local stakeholders for operational issues. At the same time, you are maintaining a longer-term, strategic perspective on station performance and needs as well as actively managing labour relations. You are the first touchpoint for Country MDs, regional heads, and global / regional support functions on station-related questions.
YOUR TASKS
Operational Responsibility
- Accountable for all aspects of operational execution at the station level, with a good understanding across all business lines such as Ground Handling, Cargo, Private Aviation and PMR Assistance
- Ensuring station operational and financial performance as measured by the relevant KPIs
- Maintaining a wider time horizon lens (12 – 18 months) on station strategy and providing input on budget or forecasting processes
- Guaranteeing the implementation of the business plan and budget
- Responsibility for QHSE Management and Security at the station according to all regulations and specifications, with the right resources, workplaces, and equipment, for safe and secure operations
- Ensuring the effective communication and implementation of the Swissport Management System
- Management of contracted service providers ensuring Swissport standards and performance within the Standard Level Agreements
Leadership Responsibility
- Ensuring frontline leadership performs all responsibilities at their level
- Assuming the line responsibility for Business Line Leaders
- Preparing and leading negotiations of collective labor agreements and ensuring active management of labour relations with the social partners at station level, in coordination with the Human Resources department
Commercial Responsibility
- Building and maintaining customer relationships at the local level, as well as with local stakeholders such as airports
- Monitoring customer relations satisfaction levels on a regular basis
- Focus on continuous improvement of quality / productivity and customer retention
- Possessing good financial understanding as well as monitoring and analyzing of the P&L and taking appropriate action
- Representation of the station to the outside community and authorities
Support Functions Responsibility
- Management of contracted service providers ensuring Swissport standards and performance within the Standard Level Agreements
- Refining and signing off on centrally provided resource plans to ensure and meet operational targets (with support of Business Line Leads and Managers)
- Supporting preparation of country-level regulatory and financial reporting with the country finance team
YOUR PROFILE
- University degree or equivalent in Business Administration or higher technical education related to our field
- Multiple years of experience in project-, process- and financial management, knowledge of the business environment and administration, preferably in the Aviation Industry
- Excellent working knowledge of business management principles and practices such as financial concepts, labor laws, and key drivers of profitability and operational performance as well as optimization of complex processes
- Knowledge of air traffic in general and, more specifically, of the processes established within the station and the region a plus
- German and English business fluent spoken and written
- High user skills in all common Microsoft applications
