What you will do:
As the Director, Corporate Communications, you will develop communications strategies and messaging that helps tell the Alexion, AstraZeneca Rare Disease story to a broad range of stakeholder audiences. You will build and maintain clear, compelling and consistent messaging and build strategic creative campaigns that bring them to life.
You'll need to be a strategic problem solver, with a talent to develop and implement project plans. Expert-level organization and time management skills are key to supporting numerous projects, deliver in a fast-paced environment, coordinate with multiple functions and/or regions and successfully partner with internal clients and leaders.
You will be a core member of the Alexion, AstraZeneca Rare Disease Global Corporate Affairs team while collaborating with other teams across AstraZeneca ensure our strategy and message aligns with enterprise priorities.
Responsibilities:

Serve as the leader on Alexion’s narrative development, building messaging frameworks that articulate our position and ambition as a leader in rare disease.

Develop strategic rollout plans, and supporting materials (written, multimedia, etc.) in support of key issue areas and narratives.

Develop compelling campaigns that tell the Alexion story across audiences, including rare disease awareness

Partner with key stakeholders in developing aligned messaging and materials across audiences and platforms (media, social/digital, internal, etc)

Serve as a lead point of contact with AstraZeneca global communications to support rare disease pull through in enterprise level communications, campaigns and reputation management

Serve as the primary reviewer of corporate content including decks, fact sheets and other corporate materials

Regularly update corporate materials to ensure messaging updates are pulled through across all materials and platforms

Partner with regional and market communicators to ensure corporate materials support market needs

Craft a wide range of communications materials including blog posts, communications plans, fact sheets, statements, and briefing materials

Supervise agency partners to drive tactical execution of communications strategies, managing associated budgets and ensuring that metrics are reached

Manage multiple, critical communications projects simultaneously and independently
Requirements:
-
10+ years working in corporate communications, with in-house life sciences experience preferred.

Strong experience building and shaping corporate narrative and messaging strategies

Experience working directly with executives and other leaders.

Very strong writing skills with excellent attention to detail.

Track record of long-term planning and execution of communications and engagement building strategies.

Comfort operating in a fast-moving environment, while navigating ambiguity and/or frequent changes in scope or direction of projects.

Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to juggle multiple, competing priorities.

Experience leading projects and partners (agency teams, cross functional partners, etc)

Experience developing materials across various communications mediums: presentations, messaging decks, videos, social posts, memos, annual reports, toolkits, etc.

BA/BS or similar educational attainment.

The duties of this role are generally conducted in an office environment. As is typical of an office-based role, employees must be able, with or without an accommodation to: use a computer; engage in communications via phone, video, and electronic messaging; engage in problem solving and non-linear thought, analysis, and dialogue; collaborate with others; maintain general availability during standard business hours.
We would prefer for you to have:

Direct experience in communications in pharmaceutical industry setting.
