Our Global Product Strategy (GPS) team plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of healthcare by driving the strategic direction of our innovative product portfolio. The Global Competitive Intelligence (CI) team serves as a competitive strategic thought partner, expert, and trusted advisor to leadership and teams across Roche's Global Product Strategy (GPS), REDs (gRED and pRED), Product Development (PD), and business development (BD) organization. The CI team plays a pivotal role in guiding Roche's product, disease area, franchise, and corporate strategy by delivering unbiased, objective, and expertly curated competitive insights derived from comprehensive analysis of competitor scientific, clinical, and commercial data/intelligence.
As a (senior) Competitive Intelligence Lead (CIL), you drive and implement competitive intelligence strategies for our pipeline assets, spanning both early and late stages, as well as our on-market products. Your work will focus on specific disease areas (DA), and cross-portfolio strategy projects. The CIL is a strategic thought partner for all key functions involved in research and development, product development, and global commercialization (Research and Early Development/RED, Product Development/PD, PDMA, GPS, Partnering/Business Development, and US/Pharma International) and other cross-functional teams.
Your key responsibilities are:

Competitive context monitoring: gathering, analysis of competitive insights and communication to varied stakeholders. Drive and ensure the generation of competitive intelligence from insights and develop recommendations to inform decision-making at any point of an asset lifecycle.

Pipeline (early to late): Shape competitive strategies, informing competitive positioning, TPP creation and launch plans (value proposition, differentiation, messaging). Contribute to disease area strategies and assessment of standard-of-care evolution by synthesizing insights at pre-clinical and clinical stages, including emerging trends and modalities.

Commercial and marketed products: Enhance the commercial success of pre-launch and marketed brands by ensuring competitive readiness and mindset by collaborating with the affiliate network.

External opportunities assessment: Support life cycle and early development teams in making asset/program or business development (BD) and partnering investment decisions taken by internal senior leadership committees.

Cross-portfolio and industry benchmarking: Assessment of scientific, clinical, market trends and external corporate strategies across disease areas to evaluate opportunities and threats. Leverage innovative and AI-based solutions.
Who You Are
Experience:
-
Bachelor’s Degree in life sciences or related discipline; MD, PharmD, MBA or PhD in a life sciences, technical, or analytical discipline is preferred. Proven experience in the pharmaceutical industry.

4+ (CIL) or 7+ (sCIL) years of strategic consulting or relevant experience, including an emphasis on competitive intelligence and strategic analytics.
Skills:

Excellent analytical and synthesis skills with demonstrated ability to interpret data and information from various sources (primary, secondary CI, congress coverage) and translate insights into clear and succinct actionable business recommendations.

Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, effectively communicating complex messages to diverse audiences and engaging with diverse groups of stakeholders in the global organization.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, manage ambiguity and prioritize efforts based on business needs.

Ability to form trusting relationships and effective collaborations across a broad and diverse group of stakeholders in the global organization.
