Job Description
We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our team in Zurich or St. Gallen. In this role we offer a hybrid work environment: you would work from the office of one of our large clients in Zurich 2-3 days a week, and have the option to work from home for the rest of the working time (within Switzerland).
Responsibilities:
- Deploy and operate modern, scalable, available, secured, and fault-tolerant systems in the finance sector.
- Provide troubleshooting and root cause analysis for IT operation issues, ensuring resolution.
- Offer System Operations (SysOps) and Administration expertise to our clients, accelerating delivery, optimizing resources, improving availability, and enhancing application/product/platform/system quality and performance.
- Monitor the health of production systems and platforms, implementing proactive alerting and coordinating with involved teams for efficient resolution.
- Demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset, learning new technologies and concepts through our internal education program.
- Write comprehensive technical and non-technical documentation for implementing new or upgraded IT infrastructure.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience with the deployment, maintenance, administration, and troubleshooting of Linux server operating systems.
- Understanding of networking, database, storage, and virtualization systems and technologies within the finance sector.
- Proficiency in container technologies such as Docker and Openshift.
- Experience integrating monitoring technologies, such as Icinga, ELK or Splunk.
- Solid knowledge of Ansible and Gitlab for automation and version control.
- Proficiency in scripting languages and frameworks, including Bash and Python.
- Previous experience hosting Java environments and in configuring Apache and Apache Tomcat.
- Fluent in German, with a good level of English.
Additional Information
We work with motivated people, who support and enrich each other. We live the possibilities of the digital world through home office, meaning you can work anywhere (within Switzerland) with flexible (annual) working hours. We also value face-to-face exchanges - coffee or tea, biscuits or fruit are all welcomed on board and shared throughout our offices.
If you ever feel the need to take a break from the digital world, we love to get hands-on together and use pens, paper, and whiteboards for brainstorming sessions. Need to clear your head? Hit the foosball table, PlayStation, massage bench or yoga mat. For networking and (brain) food, we offer regular exchange formats, like meetings, tech labs and more. Not enough? We are full believers in education and support training, whether it be internally or externally. We support you.
If you feel inspired by us, we'll probably be inspired by you. Join us now and apply online to make sure we match each other's expectations. We value diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment. We welcome all qualified candidates - regardless of your gender or background. We look forward to hearing from you!
