TIRE ENGINEER (Geneva - Switzerland)
MISSIONS AND RESPONSABILITIES:
- Work in the FIA Performance & Simulation group to provide detailed analysis and insights on tire performance.
- Analyze and interpret tire data to support the development F1 tires and of technical regulations.
2. Collaboration with Stakeholders:
- Maintain a strong working relationship with the appointed tire supplier, facilitating effective communication and collaboration on tire development and performance.
- Liaise with FOM regarding tire-related matters, ensuring alignment and understanding of requirements and expectations.
3. Race Support and Scrutineering:
- Attend selected races and test events to provide on-site support for tire-related issues.
- Assist in scrutineering processes to ensure all teams comply with tire regulations.
4. Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Collect, analyze, and report on tire performance data from races and tests.
- Prepare technical reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
5. Regulatory Development:
- Assist in the formulation and revision of technical regulations concerning tires in the single-seater category.
PROFILE:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree would be advantageous.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in tire technology, motorsport engineering, or a related field.
- Technical Expertise: Profound knowledge of tire mechanics, tire modeling, and simulation. Familiarity with tire data analysis and interpretation.
- Vehicle Dynamics: strong knowledge of racing car chassis dynamics and tyre dynamics behavior. PU, Aero, suspensions experience would be a plus.
- Software Proficiency: Experience with lap-time simulation software, tyre modeling and data analysis tools (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink, Python, or similar).
- Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Analytical Skills: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Flexibility: Willingness and ability to travel and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Familiarity with FIA regulations and the motorsport industry standards.
- Excellent English skills (additional proficiency in another European language would be a plus).
