For our Business Unit High Voltage Products in Zurich-Oerlikon, we are looking for an R&D Engineer to strengthen our R&D Team for High Voltage and Generator Circuit Breakers development.
In this role, you will be contributing to design and product development related activities in ongoing R&D projects from concept to series implementation. Within this setting you will need to find innovative solutions that satisfy a complex combination of diverse requirements, originating from technology, marketing and production, by aligning the perspectives of the contributing experts and working together with engineers and internal stakeholders across the global organization.

Your Responsibilities
Execution of product-development-related engineering tasks for specific R&D projects from concept to series implementation, ensuring robust and cost-effective designs.
Continuous development and improvement of our Methods and Best practices in regard to design and assessment of mechanically highly stressed components.
Maintaining technical alignment with our local and global cross functional experts.
Execute and supervise assembly, disassembly, and inspection of prototypes together with other experts.
Your Background
Master’s or doctoral degree in mechanical engineering or a closely related subject from a Polytechnical/Technical University
Solid background in solid and structural mechanics as well as dynamics
Good knowhow in 3D CAD and numerical simulation software tools (e.g. FEM) required
Strong interest for product design and development from prototype to series implementation
Enjoying hands-on work such as prototype assembly and testing support
Previous working experience in R&D environment is a plus
High expectations on quality of work in all regards
Independent, proactive and goal-oriented personality
Practically oriented and hands-on way of working
Excellent command of English and German, both written and spoken
