Supply Area Southeast Asia (SASEA) is one of 7 supply Areas in the world, and our co-workers are based in Ho Chi Minh City, Jakarta and Port Klang.


Job description

You will work with our various locations (in Southeast Asia) to gain an overall picture and understanding of the whole Sustainability agenda. The idea is to offer you the opportunity to learn from the reality of each one of our offices, Moreover, you will also have the chance to work in

Assignments:

  • Together with the business teams work to set priorities and goals for the Category and specific suppliers to execute sustainability actions/priorities  

  • Together with the relevant functions in the business team support suppliers to continuously identify new sustainability related business opportunities applicable in the region in connection to the IKEA Sustainability strategy  

  • Have a risk-based approach by considering Category ambitions, create and implement supplier’s development plan to meet IKEA People Planet Positive Strategy goals. Together with the relevant functions in the business teams lead and execute Sustainability Action Plans 

  • Responsible to secure collection, verification, aggregation, and reporting sustainability data from suppliers. Provide relevant analysis of supplier’s sustainability data to support supplier’s development business decisions 

  • Contribute to embed the Sustainability agenda into supplier business discussions  

  • Contribute to product improvement from sustainability perspective 

  • Identify projects to move sustainability agenda in the region. Contribute to global sustainability projects 

  • Be an active member of sustainability matrix in the region 

  • Facilitate sustainability related trainings for business teams and suppliers 

  • Lead sustainability development in key areas, such as circularity, material agendas, child and human rights, social entrepreneurs, young workers, water management, energy management 


Qualification
  • University degree in sustainability or one of the following engineering or social fields (environmental, chemical, mechanical, forestry or industrial) 

  • Good knowledge and understanding of sustainability related global and local trends and their impacts to the total business  

  • Good understanding of different industrial setups, market specific conditions and macro-economic conditions.  

  • Good understanding of different supply chains and ability to find synergies, create, lead and execute sustainable business projects  

  • Good understanding of IWAY and ability to conduct verification activities  

  • Good knowledge of Project management tools and methodology  

  • Experience working with ESG Governance (environmental, social and corporate)  

  • Good communication and presentation skills
