Company Description

Founded and headquartered in Switzerland, Avaloq is continuously expanding its global footprint with around 2,500 colleagues in 12 countries, and more than 170 clients in 35 countries. We are an industry-leading provider of wealth management technology and services for financial institutions around the world, including private banks and wealth managers, investment managers, as well as retail and neo banks. Championing a collaborative, supportive and flexible work environment empowers our colleagues to reach their full potential.

Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Business Analyst with deep expertise in financial services and products, to join our team in Zürich. Our team delivers core functionalities for both domestic tax regimes (e.g., Germany, Switzerland) and international regulatory frameworks such as FATCA, CRS, QI, and more.

This is a hybrid technical-functional role: you’ll be expected to engage deeply with tax regulations and banking requirements, translate them into functional specifications, support developers at the code level, and drive the evolution of Avaloq’s tax product suite.

We value analysts who not only understand tax complexity, but can also dig into data, write SQL queries, and collaborate seamlessly with engineers. If you're someone who thrives at the intersection of finance, regulation, and technology—and you speak both German and English fluently—this is your opportunity to make a real impact.

Your key tasks

Analyze local and international tax publications, regulatory updates, and client requirements

Drive requirement engineering and draft clear, detailed specifications for implementation

Collaborate closely with developers and QA engineers throughout the software lifecycle

Maintain and evolve tax-related functionalities within Avaloq’s core platform

Provide expert input to consulting, implementation, and sales activities

Contribute to high-quality documentation in collaboration with technical writers

Build a deep understanding of Avaloq’s core banking solution from front-to-back

Maintain continuous awareness of changes in tax legislation relevant to our clients

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Business Analyst or Functional Consultant in the financial or banking industry

Strong knowledge of financial products, ideally with exposure to German and/or Swiss tax and international regimes (FATCA, CRS, QI, etc.)

Technical skills to read code, understand logic flows, and write SQL queries on relational databases

A structured, analytical mindset and strong attention to detail

Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Native or fluent German and English—both spoken and written—are a must

It would be a real bonus if you have

Avaloq ACP certification or experience working with Avaloq solutions

Background in business informatics, economics, or a related field

Previous experience with core banking systems
