Employment is fixed term for 3 years
We are looking for an exceptional candidate to join the Institute of Bee Health as a laboratory assistant for our research on bee pathogens. The successful laboratory assistant candidate will actively conduct molecular analyses of samples generated by the BEENERGIA project. The position will be primarily based in Bern but will require periodic presence at the Agroscope research centers in Zürich and Posieux during specific periods.
Tasks- DNA/RNA extractions
- Electrophoresis
- PCR, qPCR and Sanger sequencing
- Proper record of protocols and experimental conditions
- Regular maintence of laboratory equipment
Requirements
- Biology laboratory technician or comparable training
- Demonstrated proficiency in Molecular biology techniques
- Strong team spirit and ability to work autonomously
- Good written and spoken English level (B2)
