Your tasks and responsibilities:
- Based at the EPFL Innovation Park in Lausanne, you will be embedded in a team of scientists and developers who actively work on clinical decision support systems in constant exchange with clinical partners and researchers.
- You will develop innovative integrated decision support software tools and deep learning algorithms in the field of magnetic resonance imaging. You will be involved in difference phases: research, implementation, prototyping, optimization, validation and deployment in clinical workflow for potential routine use.
- You will organize and drive regular feedback meetings with clinical partners.
- You will present your work at conferences and in scientific publications.
- You will support clinical data analysis with advanced statistical methods.
- Possible research topics may include explainable and multimodal AI frameworks tailored for clinical diagnostics, classification, novel quantitative image processing and mathematical modeling for improved precision medicine.
- You may travel both, internationally and domestically for scientific visits and conferences.

Your qualifications and experience:
- You have a Ph.D. in computer science, image processing, biomedical engineering, data science or related fields.
- You are proficient in scientific programming (Python) and gained practical experience in software development life cycle management (source control and versioning, continuous integration, debugging, unit testing and documentation).
- Previous experience in deep learning, experience in medical imaging optimization, statistics, distributed computing, signal processing, statistics are all an advantage.

- As a person you are detail-oriented and organized, with excellent communication skills.
- You have excellent written and oral command of English. Other languages are an asset.
- You are creative and can overcome obstacles.
- You have a strong drive for results with a desire to practically apply theoretical knowledge.
- You are used to work highly independently, but nevertheless can easily integrate into a local team, stay in touch with globally distributed departments and have a collaborative approach to find solutions.
