Your role and responsibilities
ABB is currently seeking a proactive and analytical M&A and Business Development Manager to join our team at ABB Electrification Installation Products division. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying M&A targets, managing the M&A target pipeline, analyzing potential acquisitions, identifying synergies, supporting the M&A process, and identifying start-ups for venture capital investments. This role requires strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of M&A processes, and the ability to work collaboratively with business functions, and the M&A and venture capital team.This role requires residency in an EU nation (i.e. Switzerland, Italy, Germany, UK, France, Denmark, Spain, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Austria) and is a #LI-remote work opportunity. You will be mainly accountable for:• Identifying and evaluating potential M&A targets and supporting on developing the inorganic strategies, that align with ABB’s strategic objectives.• Managing, maintaining the M&A target pipeline, ensuring a steady flow of potential opportunities as well as conducting detailed analysis of M&A targets, including business plan modelling.• Supporting the end-to-end M&A process, including due diligence, negotiation, and integration.• Identifying promising start-ups for venture capital investments and coordinating the investment process with the venture capital team.• Remaining connected and updated on industry trends, market conditions, and competitive landscape to inform M&A and investment strategies.Our team dynamics You will join a diverse, dynamic, talented, and high performing team, where you will be able to thrive.
Qualifications for the role
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or in a technical or business field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in M&A analysis, business development, or related role (experience with venture capital investments and start-up ecosystems is a plus).
- Knowledge and passion of industry best practices, market conditions and emerging trends in M&A and venture capital.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint and excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information to diverse stakeholders.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to set priorities and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
