The position covers a diverse range of tasks:
- Collaboration, management and acquisition of applied research and development projects in the field of AI-enabled safety-critical systems with partners from other institutes, industry and regulatory bodies
- Technical supervision and guidance of research assistants in research projects and students in project, Bachelor's and Master's theses
- Development, creation and participation in the implementation of continuing education programs
- Support in the implementation of courses in Bachelor's and Master's degree programs
- Publication of results in scientific journals and presentation at conferences
For this position, we are looking for a candidate with a degree in mathematics, physics, computer science or another engineering discipline. You have solid experience in the application of Python frameworks for machine learning (ML) projects, are familiar with current methods and trends in the field of machine learning and show a continuous interest in further advancing your knowledge. You have extensive knowledge in the development and verification of AI systems, especially in the areas of fault prediction and robustness. Furthermore, you have experience in visual computing and are interested in applying these skills in safety-critical ML projects. In addition, you have the ability to analyze complex problems, develop innovative solutions in close cooperation with internal partners from our sister institutes (in particular the Center for Artificial Intelligence, the Institute of Computer Science and the Institute of Embedded Systems) and implement them with our external project partners. You are characterized by a flair for results-oriented, scientific work in a heterogeneous and interdisciplinary environment.
