Job Summary:
The President is responsible for providing overall leadership and strategic direction for ECS. This role requires a visionary leader with a proven track record of success in the global satellite communications industry, with a specific focus on expanding into emerging markets and developing countries. The President is responsible for all aspects of the company's operations, including business development, sales, marketing, and product development.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute the company's global strategic vision for a global network of Ground Station as a Service (GSaaS) sites. This includes identifying and entering new emerging markets, adapting products and services to meet the specific needs and challenges of these regions, and establishing partnerships with local distributors and channel partners.
Lead and manage all aspects of company operations, including sales, marketing, product development, and engineering, with a strong emphasis on international expansion.
Lead the development of key GSaaS technologies, such as distributed LEO tracking, cloud service integration, and IoT data optimization.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, partners, and industry stakeholders.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities in developing countries, to include developing and implementing go-to-market strategies tailored to the unique needs and challenges of these markets.
Oversee the development and launch of new products and services, considering factors such as affordability, accessibility, and resilience to challenging environments.
Manage company finances, including budgeting and forecasting, while considering the complexities of operating in international markets.
Build and lead a high-performing and diverse international team with experience in working in and with emerging markets.
Represent the company at international industry events and conferences.
Stay abreast of global industry trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory changes in emerging markets.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering.
Master’s or other degree in engineering or related field is an advantage.
Proficiency in English (both written and spoken); knowledge of German is a plus.
20+ years of experience in the global satellite communications, with a proven track record of success in expanding businesses into emerging markets.
20+ years of experience establishing and cultivating business development relationships with large global satellite operators.
Demonstrated experience in successfully developing and launching satellite products and services in international markets.
Deep understanding of ground station operations, satellite networks, and cloud-based communications infrastructure.
Deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities presented by operating in developing countries, including infrastructure limitations, cultural nuances, and regulatory environments with an emphasis on wider Asia being a plus.
Strong business acumen, including strategic planning, and business development in an international context, with a specific focus on emerging markets.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships across cultures and in challenging environments.
Ability to build and motivate high-performing and diverse international teams.
