In this role, you will be part of a small dynamic team of actuaries within Helvetia's Active Reinsurance market unit. You will be responsible for the reserving and reporting processes of the international reinsurance business. This includes the application of appropriate actuarial methods/assumptions, the enhancement of calculation tools and the presentation of the results to management. In this role you will work closely with other functions such as finance, underwriting and IT. We offer a relaxed working atmosphere with flat hierarchies and space to realize your own ideas.

Your responsibility
- Perform regular reserve reviews for a global portfolio of reinsurance business and explain the results to management
- Build, refine and improve reserving models and processes using actuarial and data science techniques
- Develop reserving tools in collaboration with the IT development team
- Preparation of actuarial inputs for the budgeting and forecasting process
- Support actuarial and finance transformation projects related to IFRS17, local statutory valuation and the Swiss Solvency Test
- Perform profitability reviews and ad-hoc analyses
- Work place: St. Gallen or Zurich & Flex-Office option
Your qualification
- Degree in a quantitative field (Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Physics, Data Science or related field). Started or completed actuarial qualification is a plus
- At least 5 years of working experience in a quantitative field within the insurance or reinsurance industry
- Programming skills and experience in working with databases would be an asset
- Strong communication skills – ability to explain technical topics to a non-technical audience
- Fluency in written and spoken English. Any other language would be an asset.
