Department for BioMedical Research - Tumorimmunology Lab
as soon as possible or by agreement
Employment is for 2 years (prolongation possible).
Our research group investigates the interactions of immune cells with leukemia and cancer cells. A particular focus is on the analysis of so-called cancer or leukemia stem cells. These are the origin of the disease and the reason for relapses after successful chemotherapy. The aim is to develop improved immunotherapies for patients with cancer. We are currently involved in the clinical development of various treatment approaches. The analyses are carried out both in tumor models on mice and with samples directly from patients. The position thus provides a broad insight into translational research from animal experiments to clinical application.
Tasks and responsibilities
- Laboratory work
- Experimental methods that we routinely carry out include:
- Injections (i.v., i.p., p.o.) and blood sampling in mice
- Euthanasia and organ harvesting in mice
In vitro/ex-vivo
- Stem cell cultures from patient samples
- FACS (flow cytometry)
- Cell cultures
- PCR, qRT-PCR
- Immunological techniques, including proliferation assays, intracellular antibody staining, - General laboratory activities (preparation of solutions, etc.)
- Independent implementation of projects is desired.
Requirements
Completed training as a (biology) laboratory technician, ability to work in a team and good knowledge of German and English. Experience in handling laboratory animals and the above-mentioned experimental methods is desirable. It is possible to attend the LTK-1 course for conducting animal experiments.
