In this role, you'll optimize supply chains, secure reliable freight services, and build strong partnerships across the globe. Here's what you'll do:
- Be the main point of contact between internal teams (Supply Chain, Customer Service, Sales) and external partners like Shipping Lines, Freight Forwarders, and Government Bodies.
- Consolidate import and export demand plans across business units and negotiate favorable spot buying rates.
- Minimize detention and demurrage costs by securing discounts for idle containers.
- Optimize space utilization on various freight contracts, including Spot, VIP, and long-term agreements.
- Track and report on freight trends, service levels, and cost-saving measures.
- Proactively renew service contracts and manage credit terms before they expire.
Welcome on board if you have:
- Up to 5 years of experience in ocean freight procurement, working with carriers, forwarders, and BCOs.
- A Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Shipping, or Procurement.
- Strong knowledge of shipping processes, Incoterms, and freight budget management.
- Experience navigating port operations, customs documentation, and freight movements.
- The ability to work across different geographies and cultures.
- Fluent English is a must; German skills are a plus.
