Job Description

We’re seeking a Senior Backend Engineer who can bring deep technical expertise and a passion for sustainable innovation. As part of our team, you’ll develop our APIs and ensure our backend services are secure, reliable, and scalable.

As a key factor for this role, we highly value speed of execution, ensuring that you can deliver projects efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities

1. Backend Development: Implement and maintain serverless APIs and backend services on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) using TypeScript, Node.js, and the Firebase SDK.
2. Data Modeling & Scalability: Design and maintain flexible, scalable data structures that handle evolving business requirements.
3. Quality & Performance: Deliver high-quality, well-structured code; set up monitoring, alerts, and testing to ensure top-notch reliability and performance.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with our engineering and product teams, as well as partners, to deliver end-to-end solutions that meet user and business needs.
5. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance our tech stack, infrastructure, and deployment processes. Offer guidance and feedback to peers.

Qualifications

1. Technical Expertise: 5+ years with TypeScript, Node.js, and relevant backend libraries. Experience with GCP, serverless functions, and Firebase preferred.
2. Data Mastery: Skilled in crafting data models that align with business goals and support new features.
3. Code Quality: Comfortable working with monorepos, maintaining internal packages, and configuring CI/CD pipelines.
4. Collaboration & Communication: Fluent in English (German is a plus), open to feedback, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
5. Adaptability: Thrives under ambiguity, quickly adapting to changing requirements and priorities.
