The P&C Claims Team is responsible for all the Non-Life Claims applications of Zurich Switzerland.
To actively support our team, we are seeking an experienced Guidewire InsuranceSuite Developer with strong technical expertise. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on our sustainable digitalization initiatives and play a crucial role in our ongoing transformation within the claims area.
You can expect to work in an agile development environment utilizing state-of-the-art technologies. You will share technical responsibility for the development and operations of our application and serve as a key reference point for our internal customers. Additionally, you will support the Platform Architect in the decision-making process, ensuring well-informed and strategic choices. As a member of an agile team (SAFe, Scrum), you will collaborate closely with team members to drive innovation and excellence.

What you will do
- Provide 2nd and 3rd level support for the Guidewire ClaimCenter, ensuring issues are resolved in a timely manner
- Participate in complex and engaging development tasks for insurance products, including the creation of corresponding Features and Stories
- Work collaboratively with business and IT departments to specify and develop customized customer solutions
- Analyze business requirements and configure/parameterize them within the Guidewire software, particularly focusing on ClaimCenter and its integration with front-end and back-end systems
- Conduct functional and technical reviews to ensure that high-quality standards are maintained
- Ensure uninterrupted operations and the smooth functioning of systems, including supporting the CI/CD stack and overseeing production deployments
What you bring
- Degree in computer science, business informatics, or equivalent experience
- Proficiency in XML, JSON, JavaScript/Java, SQL, Linux, Windows OS, and at least two application servers (Tomcat, Jetty, Websphere, JBOSS, WebLogic, Glassfish)
- Experience in implementing business requirements through application configuration, agile application development, full CI/CD stack implementation, and Guidewire certification (Gosu and GW data model knowledge as a plus)
- Understanding of agile frameworks, specifically SCRUM or SAFe
- Familiarity with monitoring metrics (Dynatrace, Appdynamics, Prometheus/Grafana) and logging tools (ELK, Splunk)
- Independent, solution-oriented, high-quality awareness, structured approach, with excellent command of written and spoken English; German is an advantag
