Job Description

The DAO team, international and multi-cultural, mixes all skills (business, design, product, governance, engineering, analytics, AI) to make SCOR the reinsurer of tomorrow. Within the DAO, the Data Strategy & Governance team is at the forefront of the unit, interfacing business units and other parts of the organization with execution and delivery. It is responsible for driving SCOR data strategy (in full alignment with SCOR business strategy) and for ensuring its ownership lies within the business.

Member of the Data Strategy & Governance team, the Data Strategy Manager supports the Head of the team in shaping and driving SCOR data strategy and data governance framework. She.he will need to develop a very good understanding of the data strategy for each business area of the company (e.g., Property and Casualty, Life & Health, Investments) as well as for the rest of the Group (Finance, Risk, Operations); the Data Strategy Manager will turn SCOR data strategy into concrete artefacts – vision, ambitions, roadmap, success KPI tracking – that are eventually owned by each domain area. Important to the role is also the ability to build good relationships with all Chiefs of staff, to support the adherence of the data strategy with the management of each domain area.In the frame of the ongoing transformation at Group level, data is at the core of SCOR strategic plan Forward 2026. As one of the four enables to achieve it, SCOR data strategy (Convergence 26) plays a crucial part, and needs to be continuously adapted to achieve successfully this plan.

The Data Strategy Manager plays a pivotal role to align business initiatives with SCOR data strategy, through:

• Articulation of the data strategy artefacts
• Monitoring of the data strategy portfolio
• Providing support in the definition and the deployment of SCOR data governance framework
• Running market intelligence on data strategy and governance

Responsibilities

1.Articulation of the data strategy artefacts:

• Support the team in understanding the strategic goals of their respective business areas, and in identifying business priorities with regards to data initiatives – vision, ambitions
• Produce and maintain the adequate content to support the success of the data strategy deployment, inc. initiatives value proposition, roadmap

2.Monitoring of the data strategy portfolio:

• Monitoring and tracking of each initiative within the data strategy portfolio in collaboration with the business and delivery teams (E.g., progress, success, issues)
• Support the team in efficient presentation of the monitoring to each domain management, thus ensuring ownership of the strategy within the company’s different areas

3.Providing support in the definition and deployment of SCOR data governance framework:

• Work closely with SCOR data governance stakeholders (e.g., Business, Tech, Compliance, Security) to help shape and deploy the company’s holistic data governance framework
• Support the team in running the data governance framework streams (Business and Tech stakeholders’ identification and validation, processes set-up, communication)

4.Running market intelligence on data strategy and governance

• Research the market for relevant topics and current data strategy themes, enhancing the team’s and SCOR overall knowledge thus contributing to the ongoing shaping of SCOR data strategy
• Follow the industry developments and best practices in data governance, as a basis for the evolution of the company data governance framework

Qualifications

• Excellent presentation skills to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders
• Good analytical skills to effectively track performance and KPIs associated to the data strategy
• A first experience in a strategy team (e.g., consulting firm associate) is necessary
• Good command of MS PowerPoint and Excel
• Familiarity with data governance, data quality practices, experience in Palantir Foundry is a plus
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Data Science, or a related field
