About The Position
At Roche, we are committed to 5 Therapeutic Areas with the highest unmet medical needs, to prevent, treat, preserve, restore, and cure: Oncology-Hematology, Neurology, Ophthalmology, Immunology, and Cardiovascular, Renal, and Metabolism (CVRM). We are seeking a visionary and impactful leader for the role of Global Head of Access. This position leads a team of over 100 professionals organized into specialty chapters, including Pricing, Evidence, Access Strategy, and Population Health Insights & Impact. The incumbent will be instrumental in ensuring the development and implementation of robust global market access strategies, in close collaboration with various internal stakeholders (e.g. R&D, Medical, Commercialisation teams), continuously optimizing global access deliverables in service of Disease Areas and Assets strategies and actively support the realization of Roche’s ambition to deliver 20 transformative medicines for diseases with the highest societal burden till 2030.
Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership: Monitor and analyze global access trends, competitive landscape, and system developments in key markets and inform and influence strategy and strategic trade-off decisions across the life cycle to ensure the development and execution of impactful global market access strategies aligned with Roche’s business goals and patient-centric mission.

Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement of ways of working and access deliverables in support of the Pharma Strategy. Leverage Data, AI, and digital advances across Global Access to support data-driven and evidence based scenario planning, decision-making and transform the way we work across chapters and organizations.

Pricing and Reimbursement: Enable the formulation and implementation of global pricing and reimbursement strategies that cater to local market needs while ensuring sustainable access and profitability based on data and insights.

Evidence generation and application across lifecycle: Oversee and further evolve the creation and application of evidence (including real world data) and health economic models to demonstrate the clinical and societal value of Roche’s therapies to payers, providers, patients and society; support both our assets and internal and external stakeholders in achieving and maintaining reimbursement and funding for our innovative therapies.

Sustainable and impactful Access Initiatives: Advocate for and enable global initiatives ensuring long-term, sustainable access to Roche’s treatments in various healthcare settings in service of and aligned with the Pharma ambition.

Stakeholder Engagement and Cross-functional Collaboration: actively foster relationships with key internal and external stakeholders including payers, healthcare providers, academia, regulators, and access relevant advocacy groups. Collaborate effectively with global, regional, and local teams across functions such as GPS Therapeutic Areas, R&D, regulatory affairs, medical affairs, commercial, and legal to drive seamless access strategies.

Team Leadership: Build, manage, and mentor a high-performing global access team, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation. Ensure and build industry-leading capabilities within the team to stay ahead in the market and excel industry standards. Inspire leadership, articulate a clear vision for the future of access, and establish the roadmap to reach that vision. Prioritize talent development and growth, ensuring the continuous development and retention of top talent within the team.
Who You Are

Advanced degree in Health Economics, Public Health, Life Sciences, Business, or a related field and passion for improving patient access to innovative therapies at sustainable conditions

Extensive experience in access, health economics, pricing, or related functions within the pharmaceutical industry, at an increasing level of responsibility.

Deep understanding of global healthcare systems, policies, and regulatory environments and proven track record in developing and executing successful access strategies in key markets, including leading payer negotiations with key reimbursement authorities

Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing and developing high-performing teams, excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Ability to work effectively in a complex, matrixed, and global environment.
