As our Operational Excellence Manager EMEA, you will play an essential role in fostering a culture of continuous improvement and drive further improvements of Georg Fischer Piping Systems bottom line. You will work on key topics with high strategic relevance for the performance of Georg Fischer Piping Systems and thus create real added value side by side with our colleagues in the operating companies. Working closely with a diverse range of team members, from operators to plant managers and as well with the local Operational Excellence Managers, you will lead big interdisciplinary projects that help drive meaningful impact to achieve our plants operational excellence goals and business objectives. A typical implementation cycle is 12 weeks (mainly onsite in our European plants, sometimes also in the USA or Asia).
Your tasks:
- Lead and manage complex interdisciplinary projects and provide consulting services in all areas of operations including production, logistics, planning and maintenance
- Analyze financial and operational data to generate actionable insights and develop hypothesis for process improvements and strategic decision making.
- Foster a systematic approach to identify levers to generate business impact
- Develop and track KPIs to measure the progress and success of operational excellence initiatives
- Create reports and presentations for upper management on the status of organizational excellence initiatives
- Close collaboration and change management with operators up to the plant manager
- Align global operational excellence initiatives and global standards development with the local Operational Excellence Managers
- Train and develop the local Operational Excellence Managers and leadership teams
- Lead and execute process improvement initiatives using lean and Six Sigma methodologies
Your profile:
- Master’s or bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related field
- At least 8 years in process improvements, in manufacturing, in production or in a consultancy environment, preferably with leadership experience
- Strong background in financial cost structure and production data analysis
- Experience in development, implementation and coaching of Performance Management including cascaded KPIs in Operations
- Project management skills and very strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Communication and change management skills
- Strong background in lean or Six Sigma is beneficial
- German and English on a professional level
- Ability to travel 75% (mainly in Europe, sometimes USA or Asia)
- Permission to work in Switzerland (at least an EU citizenship or already a work permit for Switzerland is needed)
