As a member of the Legal Privacy team, part of the Group Legal Department Data, Digital & Privacy (DDP), you will report to the Head of Legal Privacy. In this role, you will be providing strategic legal advice in the emerging area of data privacy and other privacy-related issues.
The Opportunity:

Act as a legal advisor and strategic business partner on privacy matters towards all hierarchical levels in close collaboration with global and local business functions

Advise all business functions of Roche Group, incl. Group Functions (such as Finance, IT, HR), as well as providing legal support to Roche affiliates around the world

Shape and play an active role in the group-wide privacy risk management

Monitor and inform on developments in privacy laws and their interpretation, support the implementation of new requirements that ensure Roche's compliance with such data privacy legislation

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, implement, and monitor adherence with company policies and best practices concerning data privacy, in particular with regards to data privacy aspects of emerging technologies

Support drafting and negotiation of complex, multi-party contracts including strategic collaborations, partnerships and other transactional arrangements
Who You Are:

University degree in Law with Bar Exam with strong knowledge of data protection laws and legislative process including in-depth understanding of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable data protection laws. Ideally working knowledge of the Swiss Data Protection Act and other relevant legislation in Switzerland

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of professional legal experience in the field of global / international privacy, ideally in the life sciences industry

Experience working as a lawyer in the legal department of a multinational company, international law firm or multinational institution preferred

Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills; demonstrated excellence in relationship building and partnering at all levels within a matrix organization

Fluent in English, either French or German / Spanish is a plus
