The International Olympic Committee is the guardian of the Olympic Games and the leader of the Olympic Movement.
A truly global organisation, it acts as a catalyst for collaboration between all Olympic stakeholders, including the athletes, the National Olympic Committees, the International Federations, Organising Committees for the Olympic Games, the Worldwide Olympic Partners and Olympic broadcast partners. It also collaborates with public and private authorities including the United Nations and other international organisations.
About the role:
As the Olympic Games Promotion Trainee you will be supporting the promotion of the Olympic Games.
Your responsibilities:
Contribute to the planning, coordination and delivery of various Olympic Games Promotion (OGP) initiatives including:
Milano Cortina 2026 Storylines

Schedule, prepare agenda, attend and write follow-up notes for weekly OGP Storylines team meeting.

Support on keeping presentations for internal and external stakeholders up to date.

Contribute to ensuring the various Storylines trackers are up to date and accurate i.e. Coverage Tracker / OGP Pitching Tracker.

Assist with sharing of information and community management of the eleven local markets.

Conduct individual research where required to support the development of pitch documents.

Prepare image search and Olympic Studies Center requests as required for pitch documents.

Monitor olympics.com content to identify stories / athletes to share with our local teams.

Proactively share ideas / inspiration for potential angles to be developed.

Support in the preparation of all coverage books and recap report.

Update budget tool and organise monthly meetings with OGP Storylines team to track and monitor expenditures and available funds.

Coordinate the preparation of contracts for local teams and other external consultants and follow-up on invoicing.

Ensure SharePoint site and external Storylines Google Drive is always up to date.
Games Flash emailer

Research pop culture and sports related stories worldwide across a variety of publications and genres.

Prepare the monthly email, including writing and editing of text and formatting

Share final version with the Internal Communications Unit within the Corporate Communications and Public Affairs Department.

Work with local teams, OCOG, IOC staff and others to research locations

Assist with the Celebrity Olympic Fan project as requested by the Associate Director of the Olympic Games Promotion Unit.

Attend daily comms check-in meeting and prepare follow-up notes for OGP Unit
Provide day-to-day project and administrative support to the Unit:

Schedule, prepare agenda, attend and write follow-up notes for meetings with internal and external stakeholders.

Create PowerPoint presentations, reports, etc.
-
Arrange travel and prepare monthly expense reports for Associate Director and Senior Project Manager.
Our requirements

A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Communications, Marketing, Sports Management, Event Management, Public Relations, or a related discipline.

Courses in project management, media studies, marketing, or international relations could be beneficial.
-
Proficiency in English is essential. Knowledge of other languages, especially Italian, would be an asset.

Complete familiarity with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project.

Experience with collaboration platforms like SharePoint, Google Drive, or similar tools for document sharing and team communication.

Ability to use online research tools and databases effectively to gather information and conduct research.
-
Familiarity with email marketing could be useful for preparing and distributing communications like the Games Flash emailer.

Demonstrated ability to conduct thorough research and produce clear, engaging written content.

Proficiency in utilizing digital tools.

Strong organizational skills to manage multiple evolving projects, prioritize tasks effectively, and ensure timely execution of day-to-day activities.
