Job Description Summary
The role of Global Integrated Engineering is to support all BD manufacturing sites globally in their capital deployment of “break-through” and capacity / replacement programs to meet business growth needs.This role is to drive the Validation and Ramp-up of managed NPI or Capacity Expansion Project phases as part of end-to-end implementation of process and equipment at BD appointed production sites working in partnership with the sites for a seamless transition and rapid startup.
This role is based in Fraga.

About the role
The Global Integrated Engineering (GIE) EPI (EMEA) Engineer 3 role is responsible for driving the Validation and Ramp-up of managed New Product Introduction (NPI) or Capacity Expansion Project phases. This involves end-to-end implementation of processes and equipment at Becton Dickinson's appointed production sites, working in partnership with the sites for a seamless transition and rapid startup.
Main responsibilities will include:
- Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), collaborating to deliver performance targets
- Prepare installation plans and conduct full validation of equipment
- Manage the integration of new equipment validation and vertical startup into existing manufacturing processes
- Ensure training and competence assessments are completed for site personnel
- Minimize disruption to ongoing operations during equipment or software integration
- Support documentation of equipment instructions, process parameters, and training on new equipment
- Provide ongoing technical assistance to support maintaining long-term capacity, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) targets, and Continuous Improvement initiatives
- Ensure equipment and installation conform to Environmental Health and Safety, lockout/tagout, and company policies
- Oversee performance, minimize downtime, and support maintenance programs for optimal equipment operability
- Coordinate handover to other departments (Operations, Maintenance, Quality) for smooth production ramp-up
- Resolve gaps between expected and actual performance during ramp-up phase
- Execute test plans to verify functionality, process windows, performance, and reliability
- Perform centerlining of equipment to optimize performance
- Troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions
- Lead problem-solving efforts, root cause analysis, and scientific approaches for Equipment & Automated Systems
- Support Proof of Concept (POC) evaluation, Design of Experiments (DOE), and process verification/validation activities
About you
Qualification
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field is required.
Core skills
- Automated Manufacturing and process development for Assembly Systems.
- Plastic Mold Tool and Moulding process development
- OEE and process optimisation.
- Process Validation and Production Handover with vertical ramp-up ideology.
Certifications
- Relevant industry certifications are preferred
- Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement certifications are an advantage
Key Performance Indicators
- Accountable for Integration lead time reduction (10% on Focus lines / 30% on New lines)
- Accountable for Improved equipment performance (OEE) through validation (+10% vs Focus Machines / >82% on New Lines)
- Accountable for minimizing accidents attributable to the introduction of new capital equipment.
