To drive our continuous organic growth, we are constantly looking for highly qualified professionals. To strengthen our Contract Management team, we are looking for a Senior Contract Manager, acting as Deputy Head Global Contract Management (w/m/d), 80 - 100%.
Our Contract Management Department, consisting of 6 colleagues co-located in Switzerland and the US, is a key enabler for the commercial organization negotiating high value contracts such as development, manufacturing and supply agreements and managing claims with customers or suppliers. This is a challenging and rewarding role for a highly motivated candidate, who would closely collaborate with the Head Global Contract Management (who reports directly to the General Counsel) and serve as its deputy with the potential to take over the important role in due time.
Your tasks:
- Act as a business partner and coordinator for Business Development, Sales, Quality Assurance and Procurement and other functions within the company
- Draft and review sales and procurement related contracts and participate in and lead contract negotiations
- Ensure commercial, technical and legal aspects in contract are in line with internal guidelines (i.e. terms relating to pricing and payments, quality and regulatory, warranties as well as intellectual property, liabilities and indemnities) applying a risk-based approach
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop the negotiation strategy including contract support model, contract templates, training material, policies and procedures
- Participate or lead projects to increase effectiveness and efficiency of Contract Management leveraging data digital opportunities and reducing low value / risk work
- Compilation of contract summaries
- Support Business in managing claims with customers and suppliers
- Advising and training business partners in questions relating to contracts
- Act as Deputy for the Head of Global Contract Management and support the General Counsel where needed
Your profile:
- Master's degree in law or Life Sciences with a profound training in contract law, candidates with legal or science background are equally welcome
- At least 5 years of practical experience in contract drafting contract negotiation in the life sciences or pharmaceutical industry; ideally with a good understanding of Intellectual Property rights
- Strong interpersonal skills enabling to closely collaborate with Head Global Contract Management and the team as well as internal business partners
- In view of the potential future role heading the contract management team demonstrated leadership skills. Ability to think and act strategically to manage a diverse and co-located team of legal and non-legal professionals
- Sufficient knowledge and experience of CDMO industry standards and practices to understand Bachem`s products and services, experience of working in an GXP regulated environment
- Ability to handle multiple contracts and strategic projects simultaneously
- Mature personality with excellent negotiations, stakeholder management and communication skills
- Strong team player with entrepreneurial, business minded and collaborative mindset and a solution and result oriented way of working
- Excellent speaking and writing skills in English and ideally also in German
- Ability to work independently while keeping others informed
- Sound knowledge of MS Office (mainly Word, PowerPoint), knowledge of Salesforce, SAP and CLM tools would be an advantage
