About the Role

Randstad Digital Switzerland is seeking a Senior SAP Basis Engineer to manage the administration, configuration, and optimization of SAP systems. You will play a key role in ensuring system performance, security, and reliability while supporting strategic initiatives to align IT systems with business needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain SAP systems, including S/4HANA, ECC, BW, Solution Manager, and associated components.
• Perform installations, upgrades, patches, and migrations of SAP systems in both on-premise and cloud (Azure) environments.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot critical incidents, and implement performance tuning to ensure system stability and reliability.
• Support disaster recovery and backup procedures for SAP landscapes.
• Collaborate with development, functional, and infrastructure teams to support system enhancements, new implementations, and ongoing maintenance.
• Ensure alignment between business requirements and IT capabilities.
• Plan and coordinate system upgrades and projects.
• Identify and implement system optimizations and automation opportunities to drive continuous improvement.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation for SAP systems and processes.
• Ensure compliance with security best practices, standards, and policies.
• Conduct technology scouting, run proof of concepts, and liaise with vendors to define global IT infrastructure standards for SAP landscapes.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior team members when needed.

Your Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in SAP Basis administration.
• Strong knowledge of SAP architecture, with hands-on experience in S/4HANA, ECC, and SAP BW.
• Experience with SAP migrations and upgrades, particularly in cloud environments (Azure).
• Expertise in database administration (HANA, Oracle, or SQL Server).
• Deep understanding of SAP security concepts and role-based access control.
• Experience with system monitoring tools such as SAP Solution Manager and EarlyWatch Alerts.
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills, with attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, especially in remote work environments.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Agile methodologies.
• Familiarity with ITIL framework and processes.
• SAP Basis or HANA administration certification is a plus.
