Product Owner - Zurich, Switerland
What We Are Looking For - Scope of Role
We are looking for an experienced and talented Product Owner to join our team. In this role, you will drive product development by defining and prioritizing features to maximize value delivery across our diverse portfolio. You will not only manage the product backlog but also align cross-functional teams, and advocate for our design system's strategic impact.
This is a hybrid position which requires working in the office at least one day per week.
What Will You Do - Responsibilities for Employment
Main Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, understand user needs, and define a clear product vision.
- Manage and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring alignment with business goals and balancing strategic and tactical priorities.
- Work closely with development teams to prepare and plan sprints, support efficient delivery of features, and adjust plans based on feedback and evolving needs.
- Partner with designers in the team to ensure the product aligns with design system standards, maintaining consistency and usability across products.
- Define acceptance criteria, review completed work and maintain a high standard of quality in delivered solutions.
- Drive proactive communication with other POs, CPOs, and development teams to ensure synchronization across projects and maximize the impact of the design system.
- Together with the lead designer, develop and maintain a clear product roadmap that integrates design system enhancements, establishes key performance indicators (KPIs), tracks progress, and adjusts strategies based on metrics and business needs.
- Advocate for the design system within the organization by increasing its visibility and reinforcing its value, ensuring that the design system serves as a unifying foundation across teams.
- Identify potential risks and impediments early, collaborate with teams to mitigate challenges, and work with leadership on resource and capacity planning to ensure the team is adequately staffed.
Project Scope & Complexity
- Work on products or modules of moderate to high complexity, ensuring that features align with user needs, technical constraints, and business goals.
- Take ownership of integrating the design system into the product development lifecycle, ensuring consistency and cohesion across products.
Communication & Impact
- Engage with stakeholders, designers and development teams, to ensure alignment, and communicate the design system's value effectively.
- Proactively reach out to share the team's work, gather feedback, and adjust strategies to drive successful product outcomes
Leadership & Growth
- Together with Scrum Master, lead and facilitate sprint planning, backlog refinement, and Agile ceremonies to foster collaboration and focus.
- Support and mentor team members, promoting a culture of open communication, continuous learning, and shared ownership of product outcomes.
- Advocate for the design system within the organization, increasing its visibility and reinforcing its value.
Who You Are - Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor or Master in Business, Computer Science, or a related field.
Years and Type of Experience:
- 4-6 years as Product Owner.
Key Skills, Knowledge & Capabilities:
- Agile methodologies.
