At ATANIS Biotech, we strive to make allergy diagnosis simple and safe for both patients and physicians.
Using cutting-edge technology, we have established a method to mimic allergic reactions in a test tube, keeping potentially harmful allergens away from the patient during diagnosis. All we require for the diagnostic work up is a small blood sample.
We are building a diagnostic laboratory here in Bern, to serve both the Swiss and European markets and the US market – from here in the heart of Switzerland.
We are looking for a General Supervisor of our Diagnostic Laboratory to oversee the daily operations of our testing laboratory, reporting to the Head of Diagnostic Services / Laboratory Director. Thepurpose of this role is to serve as a general supervisor in accordance with CLIA regulations for a diagnostic laboratory. The General Supervisor will assist the Laboratory Director in managing personnel, optimizing workflows, overseeing quality control, and managing equipment. You will be responsible for ensuring that all tests meet regulatory requirements and coordinating with laboratory staff to review data for accuracy and issue test reports in a timely manner. In the absence of the Laboratory Director, the General Supervisor will be responsible for the proper execution of all laboratory procedures and reporting of test results.

Main tasks & responsibilities:
- Ensure that all testing personnel perform tests according to established policies and procedures
- Provide day-to-day supervision and oversight of laboratory operations
- Monitor quality control procedures to ensure accurate test performance
- Ensure compliance with CLIA regulations and state requirements
- Review and resolve technical problems related to test performance
- Identify training needs and provide remedial training when necessary
- Verify that testing methods and procedures are performed correctly
- Ensure corrective actions are taken when necessary
- Review and document performance specifications for accuracy and reliability
- Provide guidance and training to improve staff performance
- Ensure staff maintain required certifications and continuing education
- Maintain accurate records of all test results, quality control activities, and personnel competency assessments
- Ensure laboratory personnel follow proper biosafety and infection control protocols
- Oversee the proper maintenance of laboratory instruments and equipment
- Ability to deal with client information in a confidential manner
Your Profile
We are looking for someone with experience in laboratory work, who can effectively organize processes, ensure compliance with standards, and oversee quality control. Attention to detail and the ability to work with equipment are essential.
Technical skills
- Proficiency in conducting and supervising clinical laboratory tests
- Working knowledge of regulatory standards as they apply to diagnostic laboratories
- Implementation and monitoring of quality control programs
- Expertise in handling laboratory instruments
- Ensuring preventive maintenance and performance verification of equipment
- Proficiency in using LIMS for tracking samples and managing results
- Ability to analyze laboratory data for trends, accuracy, and quality improvement.

Working Language:

Education:
- Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathy, or Doctor of Podiatry with a valid license to practice in Switzerland, or
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in chemistry, physics, biology, clinical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution.
