Strategic Leadership in Medical Communications
Are you ready to shape the future of scientific publications in the fields of oncology and cardiovascular medicine? We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead the development and execution of strategic and tactical publication plans that will make an impact on global medical and scientific communities.
What You'll Do:
- Lead Publications Strategy: Drive the creation of publication plans that align with brand strategies, ensuring timely dissemination of data through high-impact journals and key medical congresses.
- Data Expertise: Interpret clinical, preclinical, and real-world evidence to craft compelling scientific narratives.
- High-Quality Publications: Oversee abstracts, manuscripts, and presentations, ensuring they meet rigorous quality standards and Good Publication Practices (GPP).
- Collaboration & Leadership: Chair cross-functional publications meetings and engage with global teams across medical, commercial, and development functions.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with internal teams, external investigators, thought leaders, and agencies.
- Global Presence: Participate in international medical congresses and events, supporting communication efforts.
What You Bring:
- An advanced degree (PhD, MD, PharmD, or MS) in a scientific/medical discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience in scientific publications within the pharmaceutical/biotech industry.
- Strong expertise in GPP and the ability to ensure compliance across teams and vendors.
- Exceptional communication and scientific writing skills, with fluency in English.
- A strategic mindset and the ability to work cross-functionally in a global environment.
- Knowledge of cardiovascular medicine (preferred) or a proven ability to quickly learn new therapeutic areas.
- A digital-first mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative setting.
What to Expect:
- Location: Basel (hybrid working model with flexible office days).
- Travel: Up to 20% (international and domestic)
- Duration: Fixed-term contract from March 2025 to September 2026, with a potential extension.
- Compensation: Competitive salary in the range of CHF 180-200K CHF (gross, annual)
