Summary
You will work in close collaboration with the GCO counterpart and this partnership is essential to ensure co-ownership of the CTT strategy in Development. This means creating actions together for Development, representing the Clinical Development voice on the CTT, integrating specific initiatives and requests into the overall strategy. This role will provide the voice of the +400 CD associates on the CTT (including the CSLs, CDDs, CDMDs and CSEs), and is accountable for managing senior stakeholders in Clinical Development.
This role is a hybrid office working approach
About the Role
Major Activities
- Accountable, in collaboration with the CTT CoE GCO counterpart, for the operational maintenance of the CTT model and ways of working, including the CTT sub teams, and for the development and oversight of the implementation of a centralized strategy to that Novartis Development applies the most efficient CTT model.
- Promote learning, sharing, consistent performance standards and operational excellence across all CTTs in Development for all line functions, with particular oversight of all CSLs in CD, and the clinical sub-teams responsible for protocol development, DQT, and CSR.
- Serve as a representative and advocate for CTTs in cross-functional operational excellence initiatives, including organizational process updates, improvements, and issue management across Development.
- Strategic partner with GCO and Advanced Quantitative Science to co-develop and implement performance metrics for CTTs.
- Break down silos through an enterprise mindset. Focus on delivery through collaboration and bringing people together to work towards the same purpose across organizational boundaries. Partner with CTTs and understand CTT needs to improve the CTT model, ways of working, applied tools and methodologies and increase maturity, performance and impact of CTTs at benefit of all involved line functions.
Education and experience
- Advanced degree in life sciences/healthcare (or clinically relevant degree) is required. PharmD, or PhD strongly preferred
- More than 10 years of involvement in clinical research or drug development in an academic or industry environment spanning clinical activities in Phases I through IV.
- More than 3 years of contribution to and accomplishment in all aspects of conducting clinical trials (e.g., planning, executing, reporting and publishing) in a global/matrix environment in pharmaceutical industry
- Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills, decision making strength, excellent communication and writing skills
- Over 5 years of experience in global direct or matrix people management, including experience of cross functional and cross cultural matrix leadership
- Demonstrated leadership in innovation of pharmaceutical development process and in technical approaches
- Strong understanding of agile principles preferred
- Demonstrated success in planning and executing cross functional projects
- Fluent oral and written English
