The project "Dizziness Assessment and Rapid Evaluation", led by Prof. Dr Georgios Mantokoudis (University Hospital of Bern) invites applications for Electrical Engineering or Physics positions.
The position is limited to 48 months (project duration).
We are seeking a Project Engineer to support an innovative research project focused on early stroke detection in patients with dizziness using Video-Oculography (VOG)-assisted diagnostics. This project aims to enhance diagnostic accuracy in emergency departments (EDs) by applying and validating a triage tool for non-experts, such as ED physicians.
Responsabilities
- Technical Project Lead of the DARE Study
- Supervision of 2 PhD Students
- Development of a Research Database and Interfaces with VOG
- Automated Data Analysis of Eye Tracking Data
- Development of an AI-Based Evaluation System for VOG data
- Implementation of a multicenter federated learning platform (DISCO)
Requirements
- PhD in biomedical, mechanical or electrical engineering, physics, or a related field
- Experience with experimental design and data analysis in a research setting
- Strong statistical knowledge and programming skills in Python/Matlab Simulink for scientific applications
- Ability to collaborate in an interdisciplinary team, bridging the gap between engineering and clinical research
- Scientific writing skills
- German Language >A2
- Knowledge of machine learing tools / AI, computer science is a plus
