ROLE DESCRIPTION
As Senior Analyst Maintenance Operation River, you will be part of the Technical Organization River (TOR) that oversees Maintenance & Repair Operations for Viking’s fleet of 80+ river ships. You will report to the Director of Technical Supply Chain & Planning and work closely with the technical department leadership team and other key stakeholders in the company. The Senior Analyst Maintenance Operation River is (virtually) involved in every aspect of the technical management of our river fleet with the overall objective of improving Viking River Cruises' performance and our guests’ experience. In this role, you will make a huge impact from day one.
You will drive large scale projects to maximize our operational effectiveness, reduce costs, warehouse utilization, equipment downtime and optimize our technical supply chain and procurement operations by improving our software tools and systems. You will develop and refine important analytical and business insights that you have gained through in-depth analysis to enable management to make solid, fact-based business decisions. You will also be responsible for driving the implementation of these insights to transform the business and provide executives with periodic reporting.
The role is based in Basel (Switzerland) and requires travelling based on business needs and projects
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintenance Operations Analytics - Development - Reporting
• Manage and conduct data-driven analyses and publish reports that uncover growth opportunities to drive operational improvements across the business and cost other relevant operational metrics
• Monitor company performance metrics, providing actionable insights and recommendations that drive progress and foster a culture of continuous improvement
• Analyze processes to identify inefficiencies, proposing adjustments to enhance cost savings and operational agility and present recommendations
• Develop a robust “Planned vs Actuals” feedback loop and thorough forecast gap analysis to constantly iterate and improve reliability of projections
• Support developing and tracking the Maintenance & Repair (M&R) budget
Project Management and Leadership
• Manage and delivering results in large scale and cross-functional projects with a project team by setting quality and performance standards and assessing risks
• Develop and maintain partnerships with third-party resources and any stakeholders
• Act as the single point of contact, providing necessary information and support to facilitate successful implementation
• Manage a team of at least 1-2 Analysts
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
Education and professional experience
• Completed degree in scientific or a related business field
• At least 4 years of job experience, consultancy background is desirable
• Leadership experience
• Proven experience in data processing methods. Excel mastery while exposure to tools like Tableau, SQL and Power BI is a strong plus to maximize usability
• Knowledge and experience with common project management software
• Experience in software implementation is a plus
• Experience with AI-related software is a plus

• Excellent communication in English, both written and verbal
• German language knowledge is an advantage
