The Senior Director of Solutions Design is a key leadership role responsible for developing innovative and cost-effective supply chain and logistics solutions for current and prospective clients. This individual will lead the Solutions Design team and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to align solutions with business and client requirements, enhance service offerings, and drive operational efficiency. This role requires an in-depth understanding of supply chain and logistics processes, contract logistics, IT platforms, and a strategic mindset to identify new opportunities for growth. The role is a key stakeholder to define unique value propositions for our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute strategic initiatives to create scalable and competitive logistics solutions. Oversee the design, development, and implementation of tailored supply chain solutions for clients across various industries, focusing on warehousing, distribution, and end-to-end supply chain optimization.
Team Management: Lead, mentor, and inspire the Solutions Design team, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and innovation. Manage the allocation of resources within the team to meet project deadlines and quality standards.
Player/Coach: As demand/capacity requires, engage directly in solution development and operational continuous improvement projects in an entrepreneurial manner.
Client Engagement: Act as a key point of contact for high-profile clients to understand their logistics challenges, anticipate their needs, and develop bespoke solutions that enhance client satisfaction and loyalty. Present proposals and lead negotiations related to the design and delivery of complex logistics solutions.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with Business Development, Operations, IT, and Finance teams to ensure proposed solutions are viable, aligned with organizational capabilities, and deliver expected financial and operational benefits.
Market Insights and Innovation: Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and market dynamics. Drive innovation and efficiency within the design process to maintain a competitive edge in the market.
Cost and Risk Management: Oversee the cost modeling and financial analysis of solutions to ensure profitability while managing risk exposure. Develop strategies to mitigate potential risks during solution implementation.
Process Improvement: Continuously improve design methodologies and standards to enhance the effectiveness of the Solutions Design function. Establish KPIs and metrics to monitor the success of implemented solutions.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: Bachelor’s, Masters degree or equivalent experience in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in contract logistics, supply chain management, or a related field, with at least 5 years in a senior solutions design or similar leadership role. Experience in leadership and/or business development is considered an asset.
Leadership Skills: Proven experience in leading and managing diverse, cross-functional teams. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
Technical Proficiency: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in supply chain modeling, financial analysis, and process optimization. Proficiency with solutions design tools and software (e.g., AutoCAD, Llamasoft, or similar). Experience with MOST\MTM framework.
Client-Focused: Demonstrated experience in developing and managing client relationships, with a keen understanding of the customer’s business needs.
Strategic Thinker: Ability to think strategically, analyze complex situations, and present clear, concise, and commercially viable solutions.
Industry Knowledge: Deep knowledge of contract logistics, distribution networks, and warehousing operations across multiple industries.
Reasonably expected salary range up to $180,000.00 base USD + Bonus
Reasonably expected salary range: $177,800.00 - $237,100.00 + commissions.
