Role – Project Manager
Technology – Cloud and Open Source
Location – Erlangen, Germany
Skillset requirements
As a Project Manager in a digital services organization your task is to manage and deliver large/mid-scale digital projects, significant RFCs or sub-elements of large-scale digital projects. Your objective is to conduct the projects and programs within the boundaries of time, cost & quality while focusing on consumers’ expectations and requirements. Planning, executing and tracking projects / programs in cooperation with the respective functions and project team members are a few examples of what is expected from this role. Additionally, you will be focusing on market development, resource management, vendor management and coordination activities, acting as the central interface to project stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Project/ Program Delivery
Communication
- Deliver projects end-to-end successfully, ideally through effective application of PMI/Agile methodology.
- Coordinate and support / align with respective functions for business case creation about new requests
- Develop programs / processes to support Ecom / Digital Leadership teams to work more efficiently
- Develop detailed plans that allow providing transparency on progress and identifying risks on time.
- Identify interdependencies with other projects and solve issues proactively.
- Drive continuous improvement of products, processes or systems within the project scope and give input to global for consideration
- Resource Planning
- Form, lead, manage and monitor multi-functional team resources (internals and externals) to deliver and support projects.
- Partner with Supplier Management/ Procurement department in order to manage suppliers for the projects & programs in scope, e.g. interviews, staffing, supplier costs.
Project/Program Controlling
- Act as the key contact person for major local / global stakeholders.
- Apply appropriate and effective communication methods to senior management and important stakeholders (incl. vendor) throughout the project/program lifecycle.
- As conflicts and escalations arise within projects/programs, identify solutions and drive their resolution in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Manage change within projects and ensure changes are smoothly and successfully implemented to achieve lasting benefits.
Agile Transformation
- Manage project controlling as an independent element to ensure that actual project costs are in line the committed budget.
- Conduct engagement reviews. Verify compliance with quality assurance procedures. Validate if project are delivering against program KPIs.
- Monitor project variables (cost, effort, scope, etc.) against plan in order to implement corrective or preventive actions.
Market Development
- Drive the implementation of elements of the transformation to full agile working mode and facilitate agile adoption.
- Contribute to developing and orchestrating the demand & delivery process
- Facilitate initial demand discussions
People Management
- Create business cases for your market with support from the local/global Analytics team to evaluate growth opportunities.
- Propose priorities for market rollouts based on business potential and market specific needs.
- Implement base platform capabilities, build by global, required to fulfill business cases, together with IT.

- Responsible for successful technical delivery of high level architecture and system design documents

- Responsible for defining the non-functional requirements by collaborating with the stakeholders
- Responsible for organizing, documenting and review work items scope from technical point of view.
- Responsible for scoping, designing, development, reviews and complete delivery from technical end.
- Review and validate estimates for complex projects to ensure correct sizing of work.
- Participates in POCs, validate complex technical solution, perform estimates and collateral consolidation.
- Lead and coach a team of junior developers
- Co-ordinate with Architects, Business and Infrastructure teams from client partners
- Work closely with the delivery and QA teams to guide the project towards successful deliver
- Assist in performance tuning, monitoring and debugging complex issues

- Key Requirements
- Education & Experience
- University degree with focus on Business Administration, Communication or IT or related areas, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 8+ years of in-depth experience related to project management or similar topics
- Proven market business acumen
- 3-5 years of professional experience in the ecosystem environment of the project area in scope
- Experience in Finance is a plus
- Experience working with stakeholders at various seniority levels as well as subject matter experts across various functions (Developers, business stakeholders, product and marketing teams, etc.)
- 1+ years of experience in leading a team
- Soft-Skills
- Very good communication skills, especially when interacting with different levels of business
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with different international cultures
- Ability to handle ambiguity and untangle complex situations into actionable activities
- Solutions-oriented approach and entrepreneurial mindset
- Good numerical and analytical skills
- Basic leadership skills are required
