Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales Key Account Manager to join our team. This role is pivotal in driving revenue growth and strengthening relationships with key customers. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of sales success, exceptional relationship building and communication skills, and deep aluminium can and beverage industry knowledge.
Key Responsibilities
1. Account Management
- Develop and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key customers in the beverage can sector.
- Act as the primary point of contact for key accounts, ensuring timely and successful delivery of solutions according to client needs.
2. Sales Strategy & Execution
- Drive sales growth by identifying opportunities to upsell and cross-sell products and services.
- Develop and execute account-specific strategies to achieve sales targets and company objectives.
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions to identify opportunities for new business development.
3. Customer Relationship Management
- Conduct regular client meetings, presentations, and business reviews to ensure client satisfaction.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms of service to maximize profitability while maintaining customer satisfaction.
- Address and resolve customer issues promptly to build trust and loyalty.
4. Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with internal teams, including operations, supply chain, and technical support, to deliver seamless service to clients.
5. Lead cross-functional projects
- Provide feedback from key accounts to inform product development and market strategies.
- Prepare regular reports on account status, sales performance, and market insights for senior management.
6. Leadership & Mentorship
- Mentor and guide junior account managers or sales team members as needed.
- Share best practices and contribute to building a high-performing sales team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA is a plus.
- Minimum 10, preferably 15+ years of experience in sales or key account management in the beverage can or other packaging industry.
- Excellent understanding of the FMCG beverage industry in Europe and/or global
- Proven track record of establishing effective relationships with key customers across all levels of the organization, with special focus on nurturing senior level relationships.
- Very strong understanding of the beverage can supply chain process, from rolling mill to can filling. Ability to translate technical knowhow into customer-facing narratives.
- Expert in the sustainability aspects of the beverage can. Deep understanding of the different levers impacting the product carbon footprint and demonstrated ability to translate this expertise into customer facing product offerings.
- Demonstrated experience in implementation of different tolling models (soft/ hard)
- Brilliant negotiation skills, demonstrable through continuous training & certification. Proven ability to navigate very complex and high pressure negotiation processes
- Strong presentation, and communication skills.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze data and develop actionable plans.
- Proficient in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Willingness to travel to meet clients and attend industry events.
