Your tasks
- PhD Thesis in Materials Science
- Perform in situ/operando neutron and synchrotron X-ray diffraction and imaging during selective laser melting of high nitrogen steels
- Support with the implementation of a beam shaping system for the additive manufacturing devices at PSI
- Sample characterization with electron microscopy and mechanical testing
- Write and publish scientific articles and present your work at scientific workshops and conferences
- Collaborate actively in group and with project partners
Your profile
- Master’s degree in material physics, materials science, mechanical engineering or related fields
- You are interested in experimental work, highly motivated and have excellent communication skills
- Excellent command in English is required
- Experience with metal additive manufacturing is an asset
- Experience in neutron/X-ray diffraction/imaging techniques is an asset
- Programming skills are an asset
