360 Labs Initiative at a Glance
The 360 Labs are a new capability that is currently being built up within the Pharmaceutical Research and Early Development organization (pRED ). The primary mission of this effort is to provide greater access and support for the use of cutting-edge biomedical research technologies by scientists across our discovery portfolio.
The 360 Labs will deliver core scientific technologies, expertise and enabling activities, as well as facilitate knowledge sharing in close collaboration with our therapeutic areas and functions. The Opportunity
The Research Histopathology Technology Platform in the 360 Labs Initiative is seeking to add a highly-motivated and collaborative board-certified Veterinary Pathologist to its team. The successful candidate will possess robust knowledge of preclinical animal model anatomy and physiology, extensive analytical and diagnostic skills, and a passion for working in the laboratory. You will work with a sense of urgency as a part of a matrix team, collaborating with scientists from each of our therapeutic disease areas and functions to propel drug discovery projects forward, whilst also contributing to the ongoing development and operations of the Histopathology Technology Platform within the pRED organization.
Your Role and Responsibilities

You will execute pathological evaluation of preclinical studies in the target assessment and early discovery phases of drug development projects, and you will be the point of contact for anatomical, physiological, and pathological consultations for scientists collaborating with the 360 Labs Histopathology Technology Platform;

You will act as the primary interface between the 360 Labs Histopathology Technology Platform and other pRED-internal pathology groups and initiatives;

You will be responsible for establishing innovative histopathology workflows, as well as implementing and integrating cutting-edge technologies within the laboratory;

You will embrace a culture of continuous learning by actively engaging with the latest scientific literature to stay at the forefront of emergent histology and (digital) pathology technologies and approaches; present findings and updates to internal stakeholders and at scientific conferences (where appropriate), ensuring cutting-edge expertise is cultivated and maintained.
Who you are

You hold a DVM graduate degree, ideally holding a board certification from a recognized body (ECVP/ACVP), with at least 3 years of professional experience in an academic setting and / or the pharmaceutical industry / biotech sector;

You possess extensive diagnostic and analytical skills in preclinical animal models and are generally interested in applying your knowledge outside of traditional boundaries;

You are enthusiastic about the implementation of new histology techniques, both in the laboratory and digitally, to push the envelope of histopathology approaches and their application in the drug discovery space.
