Job Summary
The Plant Controller is a key leader on the plant leadership team. Contributes to all areas of plant management and provide strong financial leadership. The Plant Controller is responsible for planning and coordinating plant budget and business planning activities in alignment with corporate policies and practices. The incumbent will provide financial direction to the plant and provide recommendations to improve site performance.
Responsibilities
- Manage company's metal related financials including variance analysis, monthly account reconciliations and ad hoc financial reporting.
- General Accounting including AP & AR Processes, balance sheets and P&L statements.
- Provides proactive / unsolicited consultation, interpretation, and education of complex financial and operational matters to various departmental leaders used to drive business decision.
- Collaborates with Plant Manager and Senior Management to explain results, make improvements, manage projects, identify inefficiencies,understand operations and lead the development of complex analysis.
- Monitor and implement plant internal controls (in conjunction with corporate policies) as necessary to ensure reporting integrity, safeguard company assets, and identify risk.
- Prepares and monitors monthly, quarterly, yearly, and interim closings.
- Oversees SOX documentation, updates, controls & activities.
- Contribute to the rolling cash flow forecast.
- Maintain accounting record for special accounts and projects (Leasing, CAPEX, and OPEX). This includes the review of major contracts to determine potential accounting implications.
- Compliance/ Finance: Supports and works closely with the Controlling Team, Legal and Business Process /Compliance functions. Liaises with Corporate Services. Ensures changes in product flows, business processes are communicated to Finance Team and reflected in financial statements.
- Strong background in standard costing
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting. CPA is recommended not required.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in accounting required; preferably in manufacturing industry.
- Demonstrated knowledge of auditing processes/practices, applicable laws, codes, and regulations
- Strong knowledge of IAS/IFRS
- MS Office proficiency, Plex and Hyperion HFM are mandatory.
- Result orientation, accountability, negotiation, critical thinking, problem solving, project and change management, and team working/building.
- Good communication, high level of autonomy, collaboration and interpersonal skills are equally important; Ability to handle the in-transfer of some accounting activities, to review and improve processes & procedures, and to train and improve the performances of the accounting team.
- Perform, understand, and communicate detailed information analysis and evaluation, and have a good track record working effectively within a team-based environment.
