What you will be doing
- Consult clinical researchers of all departments of the University Hospital Basel and associated institutes about statistics, methodology and clinical study design
- Be responsible for all statistical aspects of clinical and epidemiological research projects: develop the study design, estimate required sample sizes, write statistical analysis plans and execute them, interpret results and contribute to their scientific publication
- Interact with clinical researchers to promote high quality, evidence-based medicine
- Develop and implement new statistical methods
- Be involved in teaching and training of clinical researchers
Your profile
- An advanced academic or professional degree in (bio-/applied) statistics with good understanding of underlying mathematical processes
- Experience in applied (bio-)statistics and/or epidemiology with distinct critical thinking and a goal-oriented working approach
- Good programming skills, with preference for R
- Ability to communicate statistical methods and analysis results to non-statisticians
- Experience in clinical research is an advantage
- Knowledge and experience with real-world data, causal analysis or Bayesian modeling is an advantage
- Fluency in written and spoken English and German
