JOB PURPOSE

As a Backend Shopify Developer, you will leading commerce project and work on the development and maintenance of a number of our Shopify and Shopify Plus e-commerce websites most of which are based on a headless approach. If you have built Shopify/Shopify Plus applications, lead a team along the way and have an understanding of how the overall architecture fits together with things like digital marketing tools, site management, etc. then this might be a good opportunity for you.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Build e-commerce solutions in Shopify and Shopify Plus;

• Owning the backend development side of projects and develop technical solutions for our clients using Shopify;
• Contribute to the development of solutions using Next.JS / Node.JS;
• Implementation of data integrations into Shopify (ERP, PIM, etc.);
• Guiding of other developers and hold up quality gates through performing code reviews, meetings and regular testing;
• Consulting of clients, PMs, POs on technical questions and solution ideas
• Perform regular testing to ensure functionality, including logging issues, detailing bugs, and making recommendations to PMs of any improvements that can be made;
• Monitoring and managing website uptime and performance;
• Work with PMs to support new business sales and pitches;
• Knowledgeable in security / personal data protection principles and GPDR;
• Developing testing plans and troubleshooting issues related to eCommerce issues;
• Designing and testing pages on different browsers/devices/clients;
• Implement advanced debugging techniques and usage of browser developer tools.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• 5+ years of experience with Node.JS / Next and ideally you will have good knowledge of React;
• 3+ years experience in Shopify Development, including also Shopify Plus;
• Already finished at least one project as lead and have experience in all steps of the software development lifecycle;
• Used to guiding other developers and support them on technical challenges;
• Experience building, launching and maintaining stores, as well as general knowledge of the admin system;
• Understanding of hosting, deployments and pipelines;
• Strong understanding of Shopify 2.0 and working with a made theme and/or Storefront API;
• Experience with implementing/debugging 3rd party Shopify apps as well as creating custom solutions if necessary;
• Experience with Shopify’s object/properties, API, and Meta fields;
• Thorough testing and debugging skills with browser console and external tools;
• Being used with performing code reviews and upholding quality standards;
• Experience developing for responsive layouts for a desktop, tablet, and mobile;
• Experience working with 3rd party services and APIs, specific plugins for Shopify.
• Directly available to start working in Germany or Switzerland;
• Professional working proficiency in German and English language;
