ROLE DESCRIPTION
• The Tax Accountant is responsible for the preparation of VAT returns and maintenance of the VAT set-up in the ERP system. Together with his/her colleagues, he/she assists the Senior Manager Tax and is part of a small, but dedicated Tax team.
• This role is based in our Head Office in Basel, Switzerland, and we are looking for someone to start in January 2025.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Prepare VAT returns, ESL & Intrastat
• Prepare VAT reconciliation and ageing reports
• Ensure VAT compliant Accounts Payable processes and invoice review
• Partner with Finance Team for the administration of period end close process
• Communication with tax authorities
• Maintain VAT set-up in the ERP system
• Support VAT administration and documentation
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
• 2 – 3 years’ experience in VAT
• VAT compliance background
• Good understanding of accounting principles
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to deal with and organize a large volume of data
• Fluent written and spoken English, fluency in German is an asset
• Excellent planning and organizational abilities
• Good knowledge in MS Office, especially Excel
• Experience with ERP system(s)
• Good communication skills
• Flexibility and willingness for teamwork
• Reliable and stress-resistant
EDUCATION
• University degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration
