In the cardiovascular and metabolism area, we are developing cutting-edge therapies to treat metabolic diseases. As a member of the metabolism group, you will be part of an international group that includes scientists and clinicians who are developing medicines for the future.
The Opportunity
We currently looking for a creative, experienced, and highly motivated scientist with strong expertise in metabolism, a proven track record in managing target identification and validation in a drug discovery setting, strong leadership skills, and the proven ability to effectively lead projects in a matrix organization.
You will be responsible for leading a team of scientists that brings new targets into the portfolio and advances them to clinics.
These responsibilities capture a portion of what your work will look like:

You lead early drug discovery projects within multidisciplinary teams up to clinical proof-of-concept studies in patients.

You collaboratively design and interpret complex preclinical experimental studies for the validation and characterization of targets or therapeutic agents in the area of metabolism.

You direct and oversee experimental design and results of associates and scientists.

You champion new innovative initiatives in the metabolism area including the evaluation of external opportunities.

You coordinate in vivo and in vitro model development and characterization internally and with external partners.

You act as an experienced resource in project teams and demonstrate clear and professional verbal and written communication.

You maintain and build a network of external expertise and are well-connected to the drivers of new and emerging scientific innovation and technologies in this fast-progressing field.

You manage people, including coaching and mentoring junior scientists.
Who you are
-
You hold a PhD degree in Life Sciences (neuroscience, pharmacology, or metabolism), or a closely related discipline; and have 5-10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry.

You have significant scientific accomplishments in metabolism and successful collaborations documented by publications in high-impact journals.

You have excellent data management and record-keeping skills. You have experience in the back-translation of clinical data, which is a significant plus.

You have a vigorous “can do” mentality to succeed in a dynamic and highly collaborative research team.

You can communicate fluently in English.
