Pod Director/Commercial Account Leader, Pharmaceuticals
We are seeking a commercially driven and strategic leader to take on the role of Pod Director, responsible for strategic leadership for an assigned Pod of pharmaceutical clients in the Central European region.
This is a market-facing, business-building role that focuses on cultivating strong client relationships, orchestrating cross-functional service delivery, and growing a portfolio of approximately 6 Pharmaceutical client accounts in Central Europe. The Pod Director will oversee a team of service line experts and sales professionals, ensuring alignment with global strategies while solving for misalignment across accounts.
With a revenue target of €7-10M by FY26, the role demands a proven track record in scaling businesses and delivering commercial success. Candidates with management consulting backgrounds are particularly well-suited for this position, given their ability to think broadly beyond functional silos, solve complex problems, and drive client-centric growth.
The role is accountable for:

developing and executing a comprehensive growth and delivery plan for the Pod,
-
overseeing the performance of all accounts within the Pod (typically 5-10),

managing the Pod's budget,

leading and mentoring the Pod team (including Service Leads, Sales Directors, and Account Managers), and

strategically driving targeted marketing initiatives to expand into new buying centers.
Based out of Germany or Switzerland, this role will report to the business unit managing partner for the Central European business Unit at ERM.

About you
The Pod Director position is a client-facing leadership role that combines strong consulting, strategic account management, and business development skills. This role will require significant account management experience, where you will have demonstrated your sales management skills and ability to handle client relationships and account teams expertly.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a progressive career within a consulting environment and possess deep understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, their value chains, competitors as well as a strong POV on how sustainability issues interface with the clients commercial context, objectives and imperatives.
You will be a prolific networking, able to build strong relationships and have a demonstrable track record of expanding & elevating relationships to CSO, C-Suite, Function & BU.
Fluency in English is required.
