Job Description:
As a Quantitative Solutions Designer in the Capital and Modeling Development team, you will play a pivotal role in designing, prototyping, and implementing robust solutions for Zurich’s internal capital models. You will contribute to investor and regulatory reporting, business steering KPIs, and develop innovative solutions that enhance efficiency within and across departments. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to manage projects effectively.
What you will do

Design and Develop Solutions: Create and implement comprehensive solutions for Zurich’s internal capital models, ensuring robustness and efficiency.

Methodology Translation: Convert complex methodologies into practical, implementable solutions and design intuitive analytical tools for business analysts.

Technical Guidance: Provide expert technical and content guidance throughout the implementation and maintenance phases, ensuring best practices are followed.

Quantitative Testing: Utilize advanced quantitative methods and modeling techniques to rigorously test the accuracy of implementations, including thorough sense-checking of results.

Analytical Support: Assist analysts in conducting complex analyses and help the business understand the implications of implementations on model outputs.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with actuarial, risk management, and treasury teams to gather insights and translate their needs into precise software requirements.

Project Coordination: Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of projects related to the development and implementation of capital models, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business objectives.

Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with industry trends and technological advancements to continuously enhance solution designs and drive innovation.
What you bring

Master’s or PhD degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.

Experience (7+ years) in developing systems, quantitative analysis, or modeling, preferably within the insurance or financial services industry.

Proven interest in integrating modeling, analysis, and IT, with a significant emphasis on IT-focused activities.

Experience with factor models for market risk management.

Proficiency in programming languages such as R, Python, or similar.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Proven experience in leading cross-functional projects.

Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Familiarity with agile development methodologies is a plus.

Knowledge of performance optimization for computationally intensive calculations is an advantage.
