Trade is part of the Treasury & Trade Solutions (TTS) business of Citi. Trade involves a broad range of funded and unfunded Trade products and solutions including the following businesses; (i) Documentary Services Products (including insurance letters of credit, export and import LCs/guarantees) (ii)Trade and Working Capital Loans (iii) Receivables Finance (iv)Payable Finance and EAF The Product Management and Product Development functions across the above products work closely with the Trade Architecture and Controls Functions to create and deliver the full suite of solutions to our clients .

As part of this we are looking to hire a Senior Client Engagement Manager (SVP) who will be leading the client interaction and project management for large scale, long term and complex projects which we are embarking on. He/she will be working closely with our operations, technology, product management and other control function teams to put in the right framework and resources for execution of each project, ensuring system changes are thoroughly tested, client needs are met and the organization is ready for process changes.
As a Senior Client Engagement Manager, he/she will be instrumental in leading a large-scale, long term, complex project that integrates multiple work streams. Working closely with the sales and relationship team, he/she will serve as a bridge between Citi’s product, operations and technology teams and the customer’s project team involving senior members from their product, operations, and technology teams. This role is crucial in ensuring the strategic alignment and success of these large and critical projects.
Key Job Responsibilities
Project Leadership and Strategy Implementation:
- Define, plan, and manage complex, integrated project workstreams across key strategic opportunities.
Lead project planning, scheduling, and coordination to ensure timely delivery and high-quality outcomes. - Develop and implement risk management plans to mitigate project risks and demand plans to ensure smooth project execution.
- Have a detailed understanding of the project budget and its drivers, while ensuring adherence to it.
- Be actively involved in contract negotiations along with legal teams to ensure adherence to internal policies, procedures as well as relevant laws and regulations.
- Oversee the contract execution process, ensuring all contractual obligations are met and aligned with project objectives.
Executive Communication and Reporting:
- Prepare and deliver executive-level briefings and materials to senior members of the team ensuring clarity and alignment with business objectives.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for executive stakeholders and internal teams (Sales, Product, Operations, Technology), maintaining continuous communication and transparency throughout project lifecycles.
- Facilitate executive-level meetings and presentations, articulating project status, challenges, strategic recommendations, and the progress of contract deliverables.
Stakeholder Engagement and Team Collaboration:
- Foster strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization to ensure alignment and support for project initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze business requirements, ensuring they are clearly defined and integrated into project plans.
- Lead regular governance forums where different aspects of the project delivery, SLAs, risk and control items and other points of escalations will be discussed.
- Provide leadership, direction, and coaching to relevant members of the project team, enhancing their capabilities, and ensuring high performance.
Continuous Improvement and Innovation:
- Continuously evaluate project processes and outcomes, identifying areas for improvement and innovation.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and technological advancements to incorporate best practices into project management, including refining business requirements gathering processes.
Accountability and Success Metrics:
- Take full responsibility for the engagement’s success, tracking performance metrics and adjusting strategies as necessary to meet business objectives.
- Ensure that all project deliverables meet the quality standards and strategic goals set by the organization, including the timely and accurate delivery of milestones and contract execution.
Skills and Experiences Required
- Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of experience as a technology-focused Program Manager or in a similar leadership role in a financial services industry
- good understanding of the various trade products and/or processes in the transaction banking space
- demonstrated leadership in technical product or program management, with the ability to guide strategic initiatives.
- prior experience managing large-scale, cross-functional projects, including building sustainable processes, and coordinating complex schedules.
- prior experience developing high quality customer-facing presentations
- Experience with project management disciplines, including scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, and critical path management.
- Advanced project management certifications, such as PMP, Agile, or equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience in a role which requires regular client interactions
