About This Role
The International Center of Excellence (I-CoE) Medical Director, Neuropsychiatry will be a strategic partner within Biogen providing expert medical leadership to help inform medical practice across our Neuropsychiatry therapeutic area to improve meaningful patient outcomes. As a key member of the Neuropsychiatry I-CoE team & reporting to the Global Head, Neuropsychiatry, the I-CoE Neuropsychiatry Medical Director will lead execution of medical launch readiness & priorities in key markets for the European and Intercontinental regions for Biogen’s Neuropsychiatry (NP) therapeutic area asset. What You’ll Do
- Partner with I-CoE cross functional ®ional medical teams & affiliates on critical path & launch priorities for key European / Intercontinental markets.
- Build and nurture relationships with key medical experts & external stakeholders (including HCPs, healthcare institutions and advocacy groups) in NP therapeutic landscape. Lead regional Key Medical stakeholder engagement & regional medical insight synthesis.
- Serve as subject matter expert for I-CoE governance meetings, training activities, execution activities within Neuropsychiatry, to ensure launch readiness.
- Lead development/adaptation of medical materials (e.g. presentations) for the European & International affiliates, according to DSMR requirements and manage submission processes. Serve as medical reviewer for European & International affiliates as required.
- Collaborate with cross-functional members in a matrix project structure of I-CoE partners (commercial, corporate affairs, and Value & Access, training), providing Medical perspective and ensuring consistent application and understanding of the scientific narrative.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications & Skills
- MD or PhD (life sciences) required.
- Minimum of 5 years of pharmaceutical industry experience, preferably with prior work in Headquarters-based Medical Affairs role, above country & Field Medical based role. Substitution of industry work with relevant clinical practice experience in Neuropsychiatry may be considered.
- Relevant experience in depression & psychiatry.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and take initiative to solve complex & challenging problems. Demonstrated success with project management & vendor negotiation / contract management. Experience in developing Key Performance Indicators & Impact measures for Medical Affairs activities.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with regional and/or affiliate medical to ensure regional activities are executed in alignment with global medical strategy and ensuring the insights and needs from them are known and properly addressed.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills to include presentations.
Location: Baar, Switzerland as per our local hybrid policy. Anticipated travel ~ 25% internationally.
