Project Delivery/Ongoing Implementation
- Supported by the Programme Manager, the Principal HR Business analyst coordinates business analysis across the streams, offering guidance and support and maintaining the end-to-end process overview. This may involve planning, allocating, and monitoring the work of other business analysts
- The Principal will maintain oversight of the Change activities to ensure delivery of a roadmap to support the integration and adoption of the Product(s) delivered by the Programme
- Manage ongoing roadmap discussions on architecture and features of the suite of HR Functional areas in scope or integrated with Workday & ServiceNow HRSD at the bank (HCM, Recruiting, Payroll, Compensation, Benefits, Performance, leave and Absence; Service Management etc)
- Continually work with stakeholders; and end-users to gather, understand, and analyse business requirements
- Advise stakeholders on emerging trends and leading practises to provide suggestions to achieve clean configuration and streamlined processes.
- Understand & utilize Workday & ServiceNow HRSD Implementation Methodology; advise HR & others on best practice.
- Develop and implement solutions; provide subject matter expertise on key process decisions.
- Make proposals to improve or streamline existing process and data flow. Gather insights from colleagues within HR regarding the optimum end to end data and process flow that would support best HR practices in the Bank
- Lead the functional configuration of Workday HCM & ServiceNow HRSD across a wide range of modules
- Design and implement requirements as end-to end solutions across Workday & ServiceNow HRSD functional areas and the corresponding integrated system(s) and document end to end process flows
- Act as the custodian for the delivery of a portfolio of "end-to-end" business processes
- Assess and Manage impact of the Change and define interventions to deliver a seamless integration of the Change to the Organisation (People Process & technology)
- Troubleshoot production support issues as part of Hyper Care
- Develop functional specifications for integrations
- Coordinate data gathering, cleansing and preparation for the various phases (design, test, training, production preparedness / cut-over)
- Coordinate in collaboration with the Programme Manager the ongoing Workday implementation, optimization, and adoption
- Support documentation of requirements, configuration, test plans and user acceptance criteria for feature, user story, and functional delivery
- Work with the relevant Programme area to build the Roadmap of Capability & Knowledge building for HR and all other End-Users
- Support with the development of training content for the assigned functional area
- Lead one of the streams as the Senior Business analyst (as part of the "Principal" role)
Continuous improvement:
- Identify areas for improvement across the HR systems landscape and research system functionality/trends
- Deploy new features and functionality in Workday and other technologies in the HR Suite in line with the introduction of new Functional Areas and the opportunities for simplification this brings
- Manage configuration tasks within Workday
- Management of Workday modules and subsystems.
- Guide data correction initiatives or data transfer, drive consistent practice with other Workday users.
- Manage data integrity; including developing audit strategy and schedules, conduct data audits, research appropriate actions
- Partner with applicable HR functional resources for data integrity and process resolution.
- Perform root cause analysis for issues within Workday and escalate to HR / IT as appropriate
- Support benchmarking and analyse data to help understand the downstream impact.
- In collaboration with the HR Business Analysts, test functionality of new Workday releases and ensure expected system operation across upgrades
- Deliver new user training for Workday and ServiceNow HRSD administrative processing for HR users.
About the customer:
As the premier supplier to our international banking client in Basel, Swisslinx are looking for a HCM Functional & Change Lead with HCM implementation experience - ideally around Workday - to support an HCM modernisation project in a complex enterprise environment based on Workday.
This is a rolling contract running until March 31, 2026, with potential to extend (sometimes up to five years) starting ASAP (no later than June).
The HR modernization programme has been in flight for a few years and still has a couple of years to run.
Key responsibilities include defining a roadmap for implementing new Workday Functional Areas (Modules) in collaboration with stream leads and HR leadership. They work with the HR Business Analyst to coordinate system enhancements, offering expertise while ensuring a unified, user-friendly system experience. This enables the HR team and stakeholders to fully utilise the system to meet business needs.
The HR Modernisation Programme aims to transition HR processes and systems. The next phase focuses on Advanced Compensation, Recruitment, Performance, and Talent Management modules, involving process improvements, data optimisation, and updated procedures under the Programme Manager's guidance. The Functional Lead plays a vital role in ensuring these initiatives succeed.
Requirements:
As the ideal candidate you are a Experienced HR Business Analyst/Funtional Lead with an HR Generalist background, skilled in leading HR projects on data, processes, and systems.
In order to be considered for this role, you will possess the following skills and experience:

- At least 8 years' experience working in HR or HRIS department, ideally in a variety of roles (recruitment, talent, HRBP, operations...)
- Strong experience implementing HR systems (HRIS, ATS, Talent Management systems) and managing sensitive HR processes and data (e.g. Workday, PeopleSoft).
- Experience solving HR related data maintenance problems and providing change and project support for the roll out of HR solutions and HR data architecture initiatives.
- Experience in managing sensitive HR processes and data.
- Experience supporting the implementation of HR data management processes across the different client groups (line managers and staff)
- Experience supporting the test phase, i.e., data preparation (for Unit, Functional, integration, User Acceptance Testing, etc.)
- Experience producing training content and delivering training for HR processes & supporting systems
- Fluency in English
