Job purpose:
As the GSC Strategy Lead - Vaccines Manufacturing Network you have the global accountability for developing and supporting execution of the manufacturing and supply network strategy for vaccines secondary operations.
You operate within the 3–10-year horizon and act as the single point of contact (SPOC) between the Global Supply Chain (GSC) Manufacturing operations, Supply Chain, New Products Introduction and Global Product Leads. You lead the annual Long-Range Planning Modelling across all Vaccines products in the Supply Network. You provide consolidated recommendations for approval to the GSC Governance.
This role involves leading network reviews, overseeing strategic capital projects, and providing business, technical, and strategic advice. Additionally, the role includes various dimensions such as vaccines portfolio developments, strategic allocations, life cycle activities, and geographical distribution.
Your responsibilities:
Strategy Development and Execution:

Design and maintain all supply nodes for secondary operations.

Own network modelling and a 10-year capacity plan reflecting the long-range demand forecast for all vaccines in the portfolio and new product introduction.

Lead network reviews and support cross-brands business case for GSC Governance approval.

Interface with the Medicines Network Strategy team for joint strategic projects.

Support Operations to develop and implement a robust strategic workforce plan to deliver the network strategic goals.

Recommend changes in supply strategies for region / country, manufacturing step, and/or site / Manufacturing Units (MUs).

Provide inputs to sourcing board, and finance OPEX / CAPEX processes, incl. Operational Leverage initiatives.

Develop opportunities to facilitate the Supply Chain Continuity process.

Benchmark against industry trends and promote technology and IT systems development to improve quality, increase productivity, control costs, and reduce risks.
Network and Supply Chain Management:

Support and adjust deployment of the 2030 Secondary network strategy.

Connect long-term modelling with short-term supply chain planning.

Prepare and maintain an inventory strategic plan to support the network transition towards 2030.

Provide guidance to warehouse and distribution strategic reviews.

Support mRNA and MAPS supply chain design.
-
Work with GSC Vaccines manufacturing leadership team to ensure adequate capex plans are in place.

Contribute to Performance improvement plans across operations.

Liaise with Supply Chain functions to ensure adequate measures are taken in the plan horizon to enable smooth transition in the network evolution.
Stakeholder Management:

Operate at the GSC Leadership Team level and -1, interact with all sites in scope.

Liaise with Global MSAT / Global Engineering / External Manufacturing / R&D to ensure alignment with the overall strategy.

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

Minimum University degree level (Master’s degree) in relevant fields e.g. Sciences, Economics, Finance, Engineering

Minimum 15 years of experience in in the Vaccines / Biopharmaceutical Manufacturing Industry
-
Broad business-oriented experience (financial, performance, etc.)
-
Understanding of the vaccine development, production and supply constraints and environment (including competition)
-
Ability to engage, influence and lead people from different areas of expertise including more senior leadership functions
-
Ability to step back, analyse and develop breakthrough scenarios
-
Strong learnings capability and analytical thinking
-
High level of integrity, ethics and confidentiality. Ability to handle confidential information
-
Excellent written and spoken command of English is a must. Ability to draft Senior Executives-ready business cases in English.

Flexible to business travel and work on various time zones.
