We are seeking an experienced and motivated Optical Testing Team Manager to lead our optical characterization teams. This role requires a strong leader with excellent management skills to oversee the execution of our testing roadmap, manage supplier relationships, and drive the development of our optical test capabilities. You will also ensure the seamless transition of testing processes to mass production.
Your responsibility is to ensure that the testing teams are organized in a good way and deliver test results efficiently in all product development phases, from prototype to MP.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the optical testing team, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to team members to foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Establish and adapt the testing team organization in the company.
- Report progress to higher management.
- Develop and execute the testing roadmap for NILT, ensuring alignment with company goals and project timelines, and effectively managing resources to meet objectives.
- Interface with external suppliers to specify, validate, and correlate different optical systems, ensuring clear communication and strong partnerships.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices in optical testing, maintaining a high level of quality and reliability in all testing activities.
- Occasional hands on testing related work depending on qualifications.
- Oversee the transfer of testing processes to mass production.
Qualifications:
- MSc degree or PhD in Microengineering, Optics, Photonics, Physics or a related field.
- Experience in setting up mass production processes is a plus.
- 10+ years of working experience in optical testing and characterization, with a solid background in optics.
- Proven experience in managing teams and projects, with strong leadership and organizational skills, is a must.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present results and challenges clearly to diverse stakeholders.
- Fluency in English; German is a plus.
