Director, Segment Collections & Strategy – Operations Customer-to-Cash
We are looking for an individual with experience in driving strategic initiatives and collection management to join our team. The incumbent is accountable for identifying, facilitating and driving strategic initiatives to achieve collections transformation, C2C Strategic Programs, increased Automation through RPA and AI implementation. They will also be responsible for delivering on cash and AR aging targets at the segment level. They will build strong relationships and integrate as an active member of the segment Finance and Sales teams, driving successful resolution of disputes and accelerating overdue conversion to cash for non-disputed items.
About the Role
In this opportunity as a Director, Segment Collections & Strategy, you will:
- Search, identify, validate, and propose best practices to be incorporated into the global standards and subsequently implemented locally
- Drive strategy to achieve collection transformation outcomes; ensures business process and technology alignment across collections are in place to achieve desired outcomes and committed benefits
- Lead research into AR trends and drivers to identify root causes and remove barriers to increased enterprise performance. Drive engagement to drive improvements, represent impact on AR and action plans.
- Drive strategic initiatives throughout credit & collections. Including automation and AI.
- Lead the payments work stream, working across C2C and technology partners, supporting Cash Applications and best practices.
- Communicate openly and encourage free information flow while engaging cross-functional teams to solve problems and add value
- Deliver on monthly and yearly segment cash goals as well as deliver on AR aging targets
- Build relationships and be seen as a value-added player by the segment finance teams and by the businesses
- Establish an effective communication channel between Segment Finance leadership and Credit & Collections leadership
- Accountable for delivering on conversion of overdue escalations to cash; including all required daily activities to resolve issues impacting cash payment
- Monitor day-to-day operations with a focus on delivering on key performance metrics – both across leading and lagging indicators
About You
You’re a fit for the role of Director, Segment Collections & Strategy if you have:
- BA/BS degree – preferably in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Business
- 10+ years of experience in a leadership role
- A record of driving transformation across across cash applications and collections.
- Proven track record of delivering on Cash and aged AR targets
- Demonstrable experience building senior leader level relationships
- Extensive experience preparing material and presenting to senior leaders – with clear and concise articulation of what’s at stake, risk and mitigation
- Demonstrates strong leadership (e.g. decisiveness and be seen as a reliable decision-maker by others, act in line with company values and integrity, deal with and lead through ambiguity)
- Logical thinker with basic analytical skills
- Project management experience is a plus
